Apple, which went public on December 12, 1980, set a record market capitalization of $623.5 billion in 2012, and as of June 2014, Apple has been the world's largest company by market capitalization for three consecutive years.

Apple was ranked No. 9 on the 2016 Fortune 500 list. On September 30, 2013, Apple surpassed Coca-Cola as the world's most valuable brand in the Omnicom Group's "World's Best Brands" report, and in 2014, the Apple brand surpassed Google as the world's most valuable brand.
