How to plant strawberries

Strawberry planting methods are as follows:

1, planting time.

Strawberries are usually planted in the spring and fall is better to live, of course, in areas with pleasant climate, you can plant strawberries all year round. But for our indoor pot planting, or recommended in the spring and fall planting, so that even if the management is not very in place, but also easy to survive, and spring 3-4 months, fall 8-9 months out of the strawberry taste is the best.

2, choose pots, soil.

Strawberries grow faster, easy to burst pots, so choose a little larger pot, but not too deep. 2 seedlings need pots about 30 cm in diameter. Strawberry planting is a certain requirement for the soil, need to be neutral or weakly acidic soil environment, and the soil requires fertile, loose, permeable, water permeability.

So we can make our own potting soil, using coarse river sand mixed with garden soil or grass ash, of which coarse river sand ensures the soil's air permeability, while garden soil or grass ash soil ensures the soil's fertility. Of course, if conditions do not allow, or if you are too lazy to configure potting soil, you can also buy special nutrient soil.

3, planting.

Generally home planting is directly on the market to buy seedlings, Mucor solution soaked root system to disinfect, you can directly planting. After the planting is completed, you need to water thoroughly, to ensure that the soil and its root system fully adhered to, can improve the survival rate of seedlings, if you do not water, seedlings will appear wilted state, not conducive to the growth of the later stage.

4, light.

Choose a sunny and warm place. Strawberry likes sun not shade, a little breeze is better. If you don't have the conditions, you can plant your strawberry plants in a shaded area and they will also grow strawberries, but they are nowhere near as prolific as in a sun-filled place.

5. Water regularly.

Don't water too much, the roots do need enough water (especially in hot weather) but don't like to soak in water. The soil should not be dry or made into a mess! The best time to water is when the surface of the soil is all dry to a depth of about 1cm (check with your finger). Water on the root and neck of the plant, not on the fruit, as this may lead to fruit rot.

6. Assisted pollination.

Although strawberries are monoecious plants, but the indoor environment is limited, the wind is not enough, and there are no insects to spread pollen, so it is still necessary to carry out artificial assisted pollination, to improve the success rate of strawberry pollination, as well as the quality and taste of the fruit. The method of artificial pollination is very simple, it is on the stamen with a brush to apply two circles, and then to the pistil to point a little on it.
