Is Basha fish a sea fish?
Basha fish is not a sea fish.

There are many kinds of fish. According to the living environment, fish can be divided into marine fish and freshwater fish, among which those living in the ocean belong to marine fish and those living in fresh water belong to freshwater fish. Basha fish is a kind of fish that we can see in daily life. From the living environment, they belong to freshwater fish, because they can only live in fresh water, and their body structure and various body adjustment mechanisms are adapted to fresh water life. They can't live in the ocean, so they are not marine fish.

Basha fish can be said to be a kind of high-quality economic fish unique to Southeast Asia. Basha fish can be cultured artificially, and the behavior of culturing them artificially is very common. This is because they grow fast, are relatively large in size, have high yield, and are not particularly difficult to raise, so they have high economic value.

Life habits of Basha fish

Basha fish are gregarious, often live in the upper layer of water, and are omnivorous. Under natural conditions, they eat small fish, shrimp, snails and mussels, duckweed and aquatic plants on the surface, and artificial compound feed can be eaten under artificial culture environment. The intestine of Basha fish is shorter, which is1.2 ~1.4 times of the total length. Basha fish is resistant to hypoxia and has low requirements for the quality of aquaculture water.

The optimum water temperature for the growth of Basha fish is 22 ~ 32℃. When it is lower than 20℃, its growth rate will slow down with the decrease of water temperature. When the water temperature is lower than 13℃, it will be frostbitten until death. In the Mekong River basin, the fry can grow to 0.8 ~ 1 .0 kg in one year, to1.5 ~ 2.0 kg in the next year, to more than 3 kg after three years, and the largest individual can grow to 20 kg.
