Wang Shifu (A.D. 1260-A.D. 1336), a famous Dexin, was born in Dadu (now Beijing), and his ancestral home was Dingxing (now Dingxing County), Baoding City, Hebei Province. He was a famous zaju writer in Yuan Dynasty and the author of the zaju "The West Chamber".
The Romance of the West Chamber is based on tang legends's Biography of Yingying, and is based on Dong Jieyuan's Zhugong Tune of the Romance of the West Chamber in the Jin Dynasty. It is performed as five long plays with a 21% discount. In the zaju at that time, the title was "World Champion", which had a great influence on later generations. Some people suspected that the story of Liu Yuee and Lv Mengzheng in Broken Kiln was not written by Wang Shifu. In addition, there are two kinds of "Tea Boat" and "Furong Pavilion", each of which has a 10% discount.
Appreciation of works
In addition to full stories, three-dimensional characters and clear themes, the lyrics of Cui Yingying's Waiting for the Moon in the West Chamber are also very prominent and poetic, which reads like a lyric poem with great artistic value.
