Chinese medicine's treatment of colds varies according to the seasons. Huoxiang Zhengqi Water consists of Huoxiang Zhengqi powder, such as Huoxiang, Magnolia officinalis, Pinellia ternate, Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae, Poria, Atractylodis Rhizoma, etc. Pogostemon cablin can relieve summer heat, eliminate dampness, stop vomiting and remove turbidity, which is a good medicine for treating nausea, vomiting, chest tightness and loss of appetite caused by excessive summer heat and dampness. Magnolia Officinalis and Pericarpium Citri Tangerinae can broaden the chest, regulate qi, eliminate phlegm and relieve depression, and are suitable for upper abdominal distension, excessive phlegm and thick and greasy tongue coating caused by dampness, while Poria and Atractylodes macrocephala are good medicines for invigorating spleen and infiltrating dampness. Pinellia ternata can dry dampness and resolve phlegm, and is suitable for various syndromes caused by damp-heat.
