Novice to master - Mobile photography from novice to master

The first time I knew that mobile phones could take beautiful photos was in 2015. I saw the natural scenery that my beautiful leader took with her mobile phone. Although I always admired it, I never thought that one day I would also want to take it. If I had known that this day would come, I should have worshiped my beautiful leader as my teacher.

In fact, I want to learn mobile photography, mainly because of the needs of life. When traveling, showing off delicious food made at home, reviewing a new book, it seems that I have to put some pictures to be intuitive. And beautiful pictures can always add a lot of points to the message you convey.

There is no requirement to be professional, just simple and easy to understand. Mobile Photography from Novice to Master should be such a book.

The book is divided into three parts: Introduction to mobile phone photography; Development of a master; and Post-production. If we talk about practicality, I actually prefer the later part of the third part.

For a novice like me who only knows how to use ready-made filters when retouching pictures, the content of the third part is a professional explanation from the aspects of histogram, curve, HSL, highlight, color, light effect, etc. , people seem to grasp the key points at once; color adjustment in photo retouching is the key point, and filters are more of an auxiliary beautification after the color adjustment of the picture. No wonder I had no choice but to increase the brightness or reduce the brightness of the picture when taking photos with a color cast in the past. But now I know that I can use tools such as histograms or curves to adjust them. This can be considered a big gain.

The post-retouching tools in the book are mainly used for sharp retouching. The later version on my mobile phone is MIX. It basically has some of the functions in Polar, but there are no local adjustment tools, but it does not affect your post-retouching. You must know that the filters in MIX are really powerful.

Okay, back to the book. In addition to retouching, the most important things in photography should be the human brain's conception and manual composition.

In addition to introducing composition techniques that are often seen in many photography platforms: such as symmetrical composition; diagonal composition; nine-square composition; frame composition; white space method, the book also talks about some shooting techniques. And these techniques are methodologies summarized after practice makes perfect.

1. Less is more, try to make the complex as simple as possible.

2. If you get closer, you will get different effects;

3. Look for the visual balance in the picture (balance is an expression of the tension of the picture, but balance does not mean average , absolute symmetry is taboo)

4. Shoot upside down to make the picture more interesting (when encountering some reflective scenes, such as water, glass, windows, etc., shooting upside down will give you a different feeling) < /p>

5. Combine movement and stillness to create tension in the photo (use the mobile phone software to slightly slow down the shutter speed and allow some scenes in the photo to be blurred, which can add a new landscape to the picture)

From simple to deep, step by step. This is the biggest highlight of this book.

After reading the entire book, I really gained a lot. It’s just that photography is a process that requires more shooting, more viewing of other people’s works, more thinking, and more accumulation. You can't become a master just by reading a book. So I'm going to practice more, and I hope this isn't another one of my incompetent moves. You don’t need to be a master, you just want to be able to record beautiful moments.
