# 31-day free writing for transformation and transformation #
My friend recently finished reading Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love//Food, Prayer and Love, so she couldn't wait to drag me to watch the movie of the same name, which was adapted from the book and starred by Julia Roberts. Although I haven't read this book yet, it's my second time to watch the movie. The first time was when the movie was just released seven years ago. Many plots are vivid, but the feelings are far less deep than the second time.
The movie is about Liz's decision to take a long vacation in her love life, travel and see the world after a failed marriage and a failed love. She first came to Rome. In this world-famous food capital, she regained her passion for food. Even jeans without buttons could not stop her from enjoying the delicious spaghetti. From a group of Italian friends she met, she learned an important lesson, that is, how to stop the busy pace and enjoy the leisure time without doing anything.
After bidding farewell to Rome's friends and delicious food, she came to India and began her retreat. One part of the retreat was to spend a few days in complete silence, even if she communicated with others, she could only use body language. However, extroverted and talkative, she chose to be a volunteer in the middle and became a guide for foreign tourists who came to participate in the retreat. From the initial impetuousness to the later uncertainty, she finally found the peace that has been missing for a long time here.
In order to fulfill her promise that fortune teller Ketut would come back to teach him English a year ago, she returned to Bali. Here, she met a sensitive and kind Brazilian boyfriend, which made her believe in love again and regain the courage to pursue happiness. The kind people around her also taught her selfless dedication. In order to help her single mother and daughter as pharmacists, she mobilized her friends all over the world to raise money for them and help them realize their desire to move into a big house.
From the beginning of the movie, a woman who was miserable and anxious and extremely insecure turned into a confident, brave and selfless goddess at the end of the drama. It was travel that made Liz complete this beautiful transformation. The people we meet during the trip, a conversation, a story, a touch of harvest and an inspiration will all make us re-examine and think about our lives, so the transformation often happens on the way. The reason why I saw this movie for the second time is more touching than the first time, and I can empathize with the change of the protagonist. It is also because the places I have traveled, the people I have met and the things I have experienced in the past seven years have made me more aware of the beauty and touch in life and cherish and love everything that life has given me.
