"Either study or travel. Either the body or the mind must be on the road." In the past few years trapped by the epidemic, there has been less traveling and more reading and watching movies. If the body cannot be on the road, let the mind be on the road.
Today’s recommended movie, “Eat, Pray, Love,” is a travelogue and a journey to find yourself and balance.
Liz is a popular novelist in her thirties. In the eighth year of her marriage, she realized that the current carefree life was not what she wanted.
She decided to get divorced and embarked on a journey of discovery to Italy, India, and Bali, using travel to reflect on life, find herself, and find balance.
1. Italy, food and love.
"Being attentive to a vegetable and paying attention to a pot of soup are the source of human vitality in the ordinary life of three meals a day." In the fast-paced life, people often overlook delicious food.
Liz, who came to Italy, fell in love with food, gained energy from food, and rekindled her passion for life.
She ate the pizza piece after piece, rolled up the pasta and swallowed it, her taste buds blooming on the tip of her tongue. From her stomach to her heart, Liz felt sincerely satisfied and full.
Before leaving Italy, Liz spent Thanksgiving with her new friends from abroad. They held hands and said words of gratitude, some jokingly, some solemnly: thanksgiving to family, thanksgiving to lovers, thanksgiving to God.
When it was Liz's turn, she said she was grateful to see a group of happy people caring and helping each other. She was lucky enough to see and participate in it, and she was the luckiest person.
2. India, meditation and calmness.
"Peace comes from the powerful inner strength of 'sei-katsu-sha'." After leaving Italy, Liz went to India.
She studied mind-body balance in India and practiced meditation.
When she first started practicing meditation, every time she sat down, the past came flooding back to her. She was so upset and angry that she couldn't continue to meditate.
Later, Liz slowly realized that only by facing the past calmly can she find inner peace.
Liz learned to face herself bravely during meditation, and tried to listen to her true inner voice. From being upset and angry at the beginning, her irritable heart returned to calm later on.
3. Bali, imbalance and balance.
"Sometimes, losing balance because of love is also a manifestation of the balance of life." Bali is desire and break.
With the recovered self, Liz returned to Bali, the island that inspired her to change, but her inner balance was broken by an unexpected love.
She was evasive, confused, angry, and afraid of returning to a chaotic life.
Liz was planning to leave Bali. Before leaving for the airport, she said goodbye to the witch doctor who inspired her. The witch doctor heard that Liz had given up on love, but told her: Sometimes, losing balance because of love is also a sign of balance in life.
In the end, Liz accepted this love and found inner peace and the balance of true love.
May everyone find inner peace, “Smile should be on your face, from your heart, even from your liver.
