Fuzhou TV Station was founded in 1984, its predecessor was Fuzhou Education TV Station founded in 1983. In the initial stage of Fuzhou Educational Television's establishment, the program structure mainly focused on educational programs such as college entrance examination tutoring lectures and junior high school cultural tutoring, supplemented by a small number of theoretical study lecture programs for cadres, such as political economics, philosophy, basic knowledge of the party, basic legal theory, etc. . At the same time, some social service programs are also launched, such as "How to Look Up Dictionaries", "Introduction to Microcomputers", "ABC English", "Electrical Safety Technology", etc. On October 3, 1984, with the consent of the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government and approval by the Ministry of Radio and Television, Fuzhou Educational Television was changed to a comprehensive station - Fuzhou Television. After the name change, Fuzhou TV Station began to run its own programs, and made news programs the focus of its own programs. In the early stage, in addition to continuing to run audio-visual programs, a small number of comprehensive programs were supplemented. "Fuzhou News" is broadcast only once a week for 10 minutes each time. Beginning in February 1985, Fuzhou TV Station's self-run programs increased from once a week to twice a week, broadcast on Tuesdays and Fridays. "Fuzhou News" premieres every Tuesday and Friday at 18:30, and is replayed once before the end of the day. In the summer of the same year, in order to meet the needs of students in summer life, the first literary column "Recommend a Song to You" was launched. In December, with the approval of Fuzhou Industrial and Commercial Bureau, Fuzhou TV Station began to undertake domestic and foreign advertising business. At the end of the year, Fuzhou TV station established an editorial department with a news group and a special literary and artistic group to launch news, special topics, and literary and artistic programs. In February 1986, the first special column "Our City" was launched. In June of the same year, in order to bridge the gap between citizens and public servants, the program "Mayor and Citizens" (later changed to "Dialogue and Exchange") was launched. Beginning on New Year's Day in 1987, "Fuzhou News" increased its broadcasts to four times a week, broadcasting every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 20:00, and rebroadcasting once before the end of the full-day program. There is also a fixed column "Song of the Week". In February of the same year, in order to give full play to the service function of television and popularize scientific knowledge about daily life, a block-style host program "Sunday" was launched that integrates knowledge and service, including "Gourmet", "Entertainment Park", and "Head of the Family" , "Service Desk", "Health Consultant", "Parenting Guide", "Host's Mailbox" and other small columns, once every two weeks, each issue is 15 minutes. In March of the same year, a monthly variety show "Colorful" was launched, with each episode lasting 45 minutes. In August, Fuzhou TV Station and the Organization Department of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China jointly launched "Party Life" (later renamed "Party Building Zongheng" and "Mindu Style") aimed at strengthening party building work. Among them, there are also small columns such as "Min Hai Tide", "The Party is in My Heart", "Party History Knowledge", etc., with one issue every two weeks, each issue is 15 minutes long. In August 1989, in order to increase the amount of information in news reports and strengthen public opinion supervision, "Fuzhou News" underwent its first revision and launched the "Fuzhou News Special Program", which included "News Broadcast", "Hot Topics", "Rongcheng Know-how" ”, “Rongcheng People”, “Consumer Friends” and other small columns are broadcast every Sunday, 15 minutes each time.
In 2000, it merged with Fuzhou Cable TV Station.
In 2008, the directing channel was officially launched, but it was suspended in November 2015.
On December 1, 2011, the mobile channel was launched.
In June 2015, the feasibility study report on the construction project of the HD channel studio building of Fuzhou Radio and Television Station was approved by the Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
