1. oilseed: food was scarce in the early years. Oilseeds made of flour (called "oil noodles" in Nantong) are cooked with brown sugar and eaten as nourishing food for pregnant women. This ancient custom is still followed in many places in Nantong.
2. Rugao sausage: Rugao sausage, also known as "Shi Ru" sausage, has a long history and is one of the famous sausage varieties in China. It can be compared with "Cantonese" sausage, and is called "Shi Ru" sausage. Rugao sausage has the characteristics of neatness, compact meat, proper fat-thin ratio, dryness and compactness.
3. Zhengchang smoked cake: Zhengchang smoked cake, a traditional famous cake of Han nationality in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, was produced in Zhengchang Town, Tongzhou District, with a history of nearly 500 years.
4. Lusi jellyfish: Lusi jellyfish, a Jiangsu specialty, is rich in Qidong along the coast of Lusi, with a hemispherical blue-green translucent body. Known for its high quality and fine processing, it is one of the "eight treasures of seafood" in China. The jellyfish dish made of white wine, coriander and pepper is crisp, transparent and refreshing.
5. Baipu dry tea: Baipu "Sanxiangzhai" dry tea (referred to as Baipu dry tea) has a history of more than 300 years, and it is a traditional local product with a long reputation in Rugao. "Baipu Tea Dried" is made of high-quality soybeans and various spices.
