"Wogan" is a new citrus product developed in Israel, which is a hybrid of "Tempu" orange and "Danxi" red orange, and belongs to miscellaneous citrus. This variety has the characteristics of vigorous growth, less fruit drop in winter, strong fruit-setting ability and long fruit-setting harvest period.
Harvest starts from the maturity of1-February, and the longest harvest starts from May. The fruit is full and festive in appearance, tender and smooth in flesh, thin in skin, orange in flesh and rich in juice, so it tastes sweet and soft, low in acid and refreshing, and contains a lot of vitamins. Because it was listed around March, it can be staggered with other varieties, so the price is good and the sales volume is high.
Key points of "Wogan" cultivation:
1, adapt to the climate
"Wogan" has moderate cold tolerance and is suitable for planting in citrus producing areas with annual average temperature above 17.5℃. The minimum temperature in winter shall not be lower than-1℃.
2, grafting dyed wood to select folds
In production, orange, red orange, bitter orange and orange can be used as rootstocks, which have graft incompatibility with grapefruit, so avoid choosing grapefruit as rootstocks. In high-calorie areas, strong rootstocks such as Volka Mo and rough lemon should be avoided to avoid low acidity and weaken flavor of fruits. The main characteristics of citrus grafting are fast growth and high yield.
Step 3 apply fertilizer
"Wogan" grows vigorously, bears fruit for a long time, and has a great demand for fertilizer and water. In production, base fertilizer should be applied again, and the base fertilizer is mainly decomposed and fermented farmyard manure and compound fertilizer. When planting in purple soil and barren sloping land, we should strengthen soil improvement, apply more organic fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and supplement zinc and magnesium fertilizer appropriately to ensure the dark green leaves.
