In July 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission issued a document to the Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and approved the Yongchuan Yangtze River Highway Bridge project proposal. The project starts from Shuangfengchang, Wu Jian Town, Yongchuan District, Chongqing, and is temporarily connected with the first-class highway (205 provincial highway) from Yongchuan to Luzhou, passes through Songgai Town, crosses the Yangtze River in Continental Creek, passes through Shima, ends at Tanghe River in jiangjin district, and is connected with the expressway from Jiangjin, Chongqing to Hejiang, Sichuan under construction, with a total length of about 35 kilometers.
The total investment of the project is estimated to be 654.38+0.46 billion yuan, including 654.38+0.6 billion yuan for engineering construction and installation, 290 million yuan for other engineering construction and 654.38+0.6 billion yuan for reserve funds.

In July, Yongchuan Yangtze River Bridge started construction.
2012-11-21,Yongchuan side north tower has been built to 128 meters, Jiangjin side south tower has been built to 120 meters, and 85 pier piles have been built. The accumulated investment of the project is 2 1 10,000 yuan.
20 13-05-07, the main tower on the north bank was officially capped.
20 13- 12-26, the middle span of the bridge is closed, and the main project is completed.
The bridge was completed in July 20 14.
20 14 12: 18 branch bridge was officially opened to traffic on February 25th.

The overall project of Yongchuan Yangtze River Bridge includes Yongchuan Yangtze River Bridge (approach bridge) project, main bridge project, wiring project at both ends, traffic project, landscape project (ancillary structure, night view, painting) and so on.
Yongchuan Yangtze River Bridge starts from Songgai Town, Yongchuan District, Chongqing in the north, crosses the Yangtze River and enters shima town, jiangjin district, Chongqing. It is the key project of the Third Ring Expressway in Chongqing, and the first Yangtze River Bridge in Yongchuan District and the first Yangtze River Bridge in the upper reaches of Chongqing. At present, the span of the same type of cable-stayed bridge ranks 12 in China and 14 in the world.
Yongchuan Yangtze River Bridge, with a main span of 608 meters, is a cable-stayed bridge with twin towers and double cable planes, with a total length of 1008 meters and a span arrangement of (64+68*2+608+68*2+64) meters, in which Yongchuan side tower is 196.7 meters high and Jiangjin side tower is 207.4 meters high. The bridge adopts the standard of two-way six-lane expressway, with a design speed of 80km/h, and the design load of bridges and culverts is a first-class highway.
Important significance
Yongchuan, as the central city in western Chongqing, is the bridgehead and important strategic fulcrum for the implementation of Sichuan-Chongqing economic cooperation. Luzhou, Yibin, Zigong and Neijiang are important industrial bases in Sichuan Province. They are closely related to Yongchuan in transportation, industrial development, logistics, people flow and information flow, and are the key breakthrough areas and strategic platforms for Chongqing and Sichuan to implement Sichuan-Chongqing economic cooperation. Therefore, the construction of Yongchuan Yangtze River Highway Bridge is the need to implement Sichuan-Chongqing economic cooperation and jointly build a great cycle of Sichuan-Chongqing traffic golden triangle. The construction of Yongchuan Yangtze River Highway Bridge will help Chongqing to speed up the construction of the shipping center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Yongchuan Port Area of Chongqing Port has good conditions for deep-water wharf construction, and it is one of the five key ports planned and constructed in Chongqing. The construction of Yongchuan Yangtze River Highway Bridge can realize high-speed and fast land-water combined transport system.
After the completion of the bridge, Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, Chongqing-Luzhou Expressway, Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway and Yongchuan Port Area of Chongqing Port will be closely connected in series, which will help to create a new convenient sea passage in western Chongqing, accelerate the construction of the shipping center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Chongqing, and realize a high-speed and fast land-water combined transportation system in Chongqing. At the same time, it will connect Yongchuan, Jiangjin, Luzhou, Hejiang, Chishui, Guizhou and other industrial production bases, mineral resources development bases, modern agricultural development zones, tourism, commerce and various resource factor markets in a wider field and at a higher level, which is of great significance to promoting the rapid economic development in southwest Chongqing, southeast Sichuan and northwest Guizhou.
