A simple guide to Tianjin attractions 1
The Qianxiang Temple Stone Carvings Group, the sixth batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country, is located in the north of Lianhe Village, Guanzhuang Town, at the east foot of Panshan Mountain in Jixian County. The group of stone carvings in Qianxiang Temple has extremely high historical, artistic and scientific value, and provides precious physical data for the study of Buddhist archeology and folk traditional line carving techniques in the Liao Dynasty.
It is understood that Panshan Qianxiang Temple, also known as Youtang Temple, was one of the famous Panshan temples in Jizhou during the Tang and Liao Dynasties. It was destroyed by artillery fire during the Anti-Japanese War and its ruins are still there. According to the "Preface to the Inscription on the Founding Lecture Hall of Panshan Youtang Temple" in the Ming Dynasty, it is said that a monk came from afar with his staff in hand and suddenly saw thousands of monks washing their bowls beside the clear spring pool under the rock. He disappeared in an instant upon closer inspection. The Venerable built a temple here and carved thousands of Buddha statues based on what he saw on the rocks on the hillside. The stone Buddha statues in Qianxiang Temple are the largest group of Liao Dynasty stone Buddha statues discovered in the country so far. So far, 535 stone Buddhist statues, 1 relief statue and 5 relics have been discovered in Japan.
The statues are concentrated on large solitary rocks or relatively flat cliffs around the Qianxiang Temple ruins. They are all carved with lines. The carving techniques and styles show a unique folk traditional craftsmanship. Strong local characteristics. Among the statues, you can identify Sakyamuni Buddha, Tathagata Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Maitreya Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, etc. The statues are divided into standing, sitting, lying, etc. From the hair bun style, facial features and clothing patterns of the Buddha statues, it can be inferred that the time of their publication was concentrated in the Liao Dynasty, and they were all voluntarily published by the people. There is a cave dug under the rock on the north slope, called "Wuliangshou Cave". The hole is 4 meters deep, 2.2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide. The first sign outside the cave is engraved with the four characters "Infinite Life Buddha". On the north wall of the cave, there is a relief sculpture of Amitayus Buddha, 1.98 meters high. The age of the carving is unknown. According to experts, this is the only remaining grotto Buddha statue in Tianjin.
The cultural relics department has strengthened the protection of the cultural relics of the stone Buddha statues in Qianxiang Temple. It has conducted multiple "net-type" surveys within four square kilometers around the site, comprehensively extracted the ontological information of the stone Buddha statues, and surveyed and mapped the Qianxiang Temple stone Buddha statues. A plan view of a group of stone Buddha statues. The geographical environment, geology and landforms, diseases and other aspects of the group of stone Buddha statues have been investigated, and a protection plan is being formulated.

What we are going to visit today is Panshan, which is located at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain, 90 kilometers due east of Beijing, at the intersection of the four corners of Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan and Chengdu. Panshan Mountain was called Panlong Mountain, Sizheng Mountain, and Wuzhong Mountain in ancient times. So where did the name Panshan come from? There are two theories: one is from Ji Zhizhen's "Yunshan Collection" of the Yuan Dynasty: "In ancient times, Mr. Tian Pan came from Qi and lived in this mountain, so it was named Panshan." The other is that The poet Zhipu of the Qing Dynasty said in "Panshan Zhi": "Wei Tianchou lived here in seclusion, so it was named Tianpanshan. Today it is not called Tianpan but Panshan, just like Kuanglu is called Lushan."
Panshan Mountain is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Jingdong" and has the "Five Peaks", "Eight Stones" and "Three Pans". The main peak, Hanging Moon Peak, is 864.4 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by Zigai Peak in the front, Zilai Peak in the back, Jiuhua Peak in the east and Wujian Peak in the west. At the same time, it is especially famous for the pine trees in the upper plate, the rocks in the middle plate, and the water in the lower plate. Together, it is called the "Three Pans of Scenic Spots". It is also known as "a scenic spot with every step and a classic scene". Emperor Qianlong visited it many times. Winding Mountain, and wrote the famous saying "If I had known there was Winding Mountain, why would I go to the south of the Yangtze River?"
After listening to the above introduction, I believe everyone has a general understanding of Panshan. So what is Panshan like? Please make your own evaluation after visiting it in person. We have arrived at the parking lot of the scenic spot. Please remember that our car is a white Golden Dragon with the license plate number Jin A2345. The car is parked on the left side of the parking lot. We are still gathering in the car at 1pm. Please sit by the window. Visitors should lock their windows and please take your valuables with you. Okay, everyone, please start getting off the bus.
Now we have arrived at the entrance of the tourist area. There is a tall three-hole archway. On the front is Aixinjueluo. Puzuo inscribed: "The No. 1 Mountain in Jingdong", and on the back is Fan Runhua: "Rising hills and green hills". Now let's go inside and pass the three-hole mountain gate with yellow tiles and red walls. On the huge stone facing us, there are four characters "Sanpan Muyu" written by Mao Changwu, the former deputy mayor of Tianjin.
We are now walking up the stone staircase path. Please slow down and follow me here to take a look at this huge stone. It has two big characters "Enjoy" written on it. The characters are five feet in diameter and powerful. It was written by Ronglu, a scholar of Wenhuadian University in the late Qing Dynasty. It means that we have begun to enter the realm of victory.
Keep going, there are two lines of cliff carvings here. One line is "Sizhengmenjing", Panshan is also called Sizhengshan, which means that this is the gate through Panshan. Another line is "Ming Zou enters the valley". Ming Zou refers to the sound of the carriages and horses of wealthy families. There is a huge stone not far from here. What is it? You can tell by looking at it. This is the famous Yuanbao. It is named because it is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, resembling a Yuanbao. There are also a few lines of large characters on it: "This place" There are high mountains, strange rocks and strange pines.” Going further, what we see now is the Big Stone Bridge. Emperor Qianlong once rested here when he visited Panshan Mountain. So now I invite everyone to take a rest here too, to have some of the emperor's pleasure. While everyone is resting, At the same time, I will tell you a story. One year, Emperor Qianlong came to Panshan and walked to the big stone bridge. Seeing that the scenery here was very good, he ordered a rest and casually wrote the first couplet: Tour Panshan and walk the winding road for several days. Liu Yong was the first to read the second couplet: Visit Rehe , drinking hot wine and having fun for a few days. When Qianlong heard about Rehe, he immediately darkened his face. It turned out that before this, Qianlong had gone to the Rehe Palace to escape the summer heat. At that time, there was a folk proverb circulating there: The emperor's village is really a summer retreat, but the people are in Rehe. When these words reached his ears, he was naturally very angry. Seeing this, Liu Yong hurriedly interrupted and said: "Long live, the scenery here is so beautiful, you should write another couplet to let everyone get it right." So Qianlong's mood improved again, and he said another couplet: Bafang Bridge Stand on the Bafang Bridge and watch in all directions. This stumped several ministers, but Ji Xiaolan stepped forward and knelt down in front of Qianlong and blurted out: "Long live grandpa, long live grandpa, knelt down in front of long live grandpa and shouted long live long live long live long live long live." So Emperor Qianlong was very happy after hearing this, and Long Yan was delighted. < /p>
Okay, I’ve finished listening to the story and rested. Please continue to follow me. Our next attraction is Tiancheng Temple. Tiancheng Temple is the key landscape of Panshan Tourist Area, also known as Tiancheng Fu. Shan Temple, also called Tiancheng Dharma Realm. Well, now we have arrived at Tiancheng Temple. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and was expanded and rebuilt in the Liao, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Since the Kangxi Dynasty, several generations of emperors have visited Tiancheng. Emperor Qianlong visited the temple most often, and his substitute monk Kukai became a monk here. The "Tiancheng Temple" on the temple door was mentioned by Qianlong. Before entering the temple door, please turn around and look behind you. The building - Woyun Tower, is two stories high with six couplets, with carved beams and high ridges and flying eaves. It is extremely spectacular. When the sky is cloudy and rainy, white clouds are often seen walking through the valley, either hiding the building or passing through it. , which is very interesting, hence the name, Woyun Tower. At the foot of the mountain opposite Woyun Tower, there is a platform, which is the ruins of a small stage. In the past, the imperial troupe performed on the stage when Emperor Qianlong rested in Woyun Tower. /p>
Now, let’s walk into Tiancheng Temple together. When we enter the temple gate, the first thing we see is Jiangshan Yilan Pavilion. These five words were also mentioned by Emperor Qianlong. Please follow me this way and pass through. After passing the winding corridor, we came to a high platform. On the huge stone lying on our back, there was an inscription "Quiet" carved on the east side of the main hall. Let's take a look at the ancient Buddha relic pagoda in the west. It has 13 octagonal floors and an exquisite structure. There are 104 copper altars hanging on the dense eaves of the 13th floor. The golden light is shining and the mountain breeze is blowing. , clanging sound, the ancient Buddha relic pagoda was built in the Liao Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It is now listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Tianjin

The attraction we are going to visit today is Ancient Culture Street, which is Yitian. With the Harem as the center, a street with local characteristics of Tianjin is located on Gongnangong North Street, Nankai District. In 1985, the municipal government restored its traditional style and named it "Ancient Culture Street". Ancient Culture Street is different from ordinary commercial streets. Here, various handicrafts and cultural supplies from all over Tianjin and even the whole country are concentrated here. Among them, Yangliuqing paintings, clay figurine Zhang painted sculptures and Kite Wei's paintings are well-known at home and abroad and have strong local characteristics of Tianjin. Kite is the most famous, and the whole street is full of strong Chinese, Tianjin, ancient and cultural flavors. So what is the ancient culture street like? Let’s make an evaluation after visiting it in person.
Well, we have arrived at the parking lot of the scenic spot. Please remember that our car is a white Golden Dragon, and the license plate is Jin A2345. The car will be waiting at Gongbei Street at 4 p.m. Everyone, I hope you won't be late. Visitors by the window please lock the windows and take your valuables with you. Okay, everyone, please start getting off the bus.
The first thing that catches the eye is a tall and majestic imitation of the Qing Dynasty archway with gilded paintings and green tops and couplets. The colorful paintings on it are called Xuanzi colorful paintings, and the four words "Hometown of Jinmen" are written on it. It definitely It was pointed out that the area near Ancient Culture Street was a settlement 820_ years ago. The Jin people who ruled the north at that time established Zhigu Village, the most important settlement in Tianjin city. Today's Tianjin was formed with this area as the original central area and gradually developed and expanded. It has always been a prosperous commercial area in Tianjin city for six or seven hundred years and played an immeasurable role in the development of Tianjin area. It is called the hometown of Tianjin. Well-deserved.
Okay, please follow me and walk into this street. You will notice that many shops in this street have colorful paintings under the eaves and between the facades. These are all in the Qing Dynasty style. Most of Su's paintings are character stories. Let's take a look at the color paintings in the room of Lord Jizhen. The eight paintings painted on them are the eight paintings in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", including "Three Brothers in Taoyuan", "Three Heroes Fighting Lu Bu in Hulao Pass", "Lv Bu Playing Diao Chan in Fengyiting" ", "Dangyang Rejects Cao", etc., focus on the loyalty and bravery of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei from the perspective of Western Shu. We were looking at the Liyuan Pavilion opposite, and what was painted on it was the classic opera "The Story of Xixiang", which described the love story of Cui Yingying and Zhang Junrui.
Okay, let's go forward and look at it as we go. There are colorful paintings on every shop, and each colorful painting has a story. Okay, now we have arrived at the square in front of the palace. The famous Tianhou Palace is located here. Before entering the Tianhou Palace, we first take a look at the theater opposite. This theater is the earliest open-air stage in Tianjin and the earliest place for people to entertain themselves in Tianjin. The theater building is a wooden platform-style building, facing east to the west, with the Haihe River in the east and the square in front of the palace in the west. There is a stage above and a passage below, where horse-drawn carriages can also be passed. The original theater building was only 5 meters away from Thean Hou Temple. It was surrounded by low bungalows and looked crowded and messy. The theater building was demolished at that time. The theater building we see now was rebuilt in 1985 and is 12 meters high and 10 meters wide. , 11.5 meters deep, with gold couplets attached to the pillars that read: "Looking at the vast sea and sky, thousands of sails welcome the dawn, happy wind, clear clouds, and hundreds of plays, wishing a good harvest." In the past, the theater was the main place for performances to honor the gods. On March 23rd of every year, the birthday of the Queen Mother, the performance reached its climax. Later, after the Japanese invaders occupied Tianjin, the theater stopped performing activities to honor the gods. .
Okay, now we turn around and take a look. In front of the gate of Thean Hou Temple, there are two tall flagpoles, reaching into the night sky, which are particularly eye-catching. These are the flag poles, 26 meters high. It is made of several pieces of copper and iron wood. The outer layer is wrapped with hemp and plastered, and then painted with paint. After winter and summer, it is strong and strong. It is said that when the flagpole was first erected, on the one hand, it hung lights to guide the boats traveling to and from the mouth of the Sancha River, and on the other hand, it served as a foil to the Tianhou Temple, making the entire building complex look well-proportioned and impressive. Later, it was specially used to hang the Queen's title banner during the first and fifteenth day of each lunar month and during temple fairs.
Please continue to move forward. What we see now is the main building of Thean Hou Temple. Local folk in Tianjin always call the Queen of Heaven "Empress", so Tianhou Palace is also called the Palace of the Empress. It was first built in the Yuan Dynasty and was rebuilt and reinforced many times in all dynasties. As we all know, most temples in my country face north and south, but Tianhou Temple faces east and west. Why is this? Because the Sancha River in Jinmen is a must-pass place for water transportation. It is not only the starting point of river transportation, but also the starting point of sea transportation. The terminal has become a transfer station for river-sea transport. At that time, navigation technology was not developed, and water boats often died in the belly of fish. In order to satisfy the spiritual sustenance needed by boat people, merchants and government officials during water transportation, and to pray for the blessing of the sea god Tianhou for navigation, the Tianhou Palace and Temple Gate were built on the west bank of the Haihe River. Facing east, facing the Haihe River, ships going south and north all anchored and entered the temple to burn incense. Some ships cannot dock due to lack of time or for some reason. Boat people and merchants can also worship the Queen of Heaven on board and pray for peace. In this way, it not only satisfied the folk worship requirements of the disembarked believers, but also complied with the busy shipping demand at that time, and satisfied the folk worship requirements of the believers who could not disembark.
What we see now is the mountain gate, which is a mixed structure of brick and wood. It has nine ridges and a green tile roof. It has three gates and a circular arch in the middle, which refers to the ancient saying "The sky is round". It is a rectangular convenience door. On the forehead of the door are engraved the four words "Emperor Tianhou Palace", and in the middle arch there is a plaque "Protect Sanjin". There was no such mountain gate when Tianhou Palace was first built. This mountain gate was added in the 20th year of Qianlong's reign. /">Organize and collect
Everyone followed me in, and faced a wooden archway with two columns on the first floor. On the left and right sides were the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower. After walking through the archway, what appeared in front of us was the front hall. , enshrined in the middle of the hall is the protector god Wang Lingguan, with "Clair Eye", "Shunfeng Er", "Jia evil" and "Jia good" on both sides.

< p> The destination of our trip is the Yangliuqing Museum. It was originally the residence of Shi Yuanshi, one of the eight great families in the late Qing Dynasty. The Shi family was originally from Dong'a County, Shandong. Since the Ming Dynasty, they have been engaged in water transport. Profits are increasing.
In the fiftieth year of Qianlong's reign, Shi Zhong began to settle in Yangliuqing. His son Shi Wancheng was very good at business and his family wealth was increasing day by day. In the fourth year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, Qianlong's favored minister He Kun was sentenced to death. A maid fled with jewelry and was taken in by Shi Wancheng's grain ship anchored in Tongzhou. As a result, the Shi family's wealth increased sharply. By the time of Shi Wancheng's son Shi Xianting, the Shi family had changed. It has been passed down from generation to generation and the population is prosperous, and the family is great and the business is great. Shi Xianting divided the property of the Shi family among his four sons, and each of them established a hall: Fushan Hall as the long gate, Zhenglian Hall as the second gate, Tianxi Hall as the third gate, and Zunmei Hall as the fourth gate. Among them, Simen Zunmeitang manages the family well and has a prosperous fortune. It has been continuously expanded and has become the first one in Jinxi. It is commonly known as the Shijia Courtyard. Shi Yuanshi passed away in the eighth year of the Republic of China, and his wife moved her family to Tianjin. Since then, the Shi family has gradually declined, and the Shi family compound has been severely damaged. Since 1987, the Xiqing District People's Government has invested 560 yuan in gradual restoration. In 1991, the Shi Family Courtyard was approved by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government as a municipal cultural relic protection unit and named Tianjin Yangliuqing Museum.
Okay, now we are at the Shi Family Courtyard. Please take your belongings with you when you get off the bus and do not leave them in the car. Meet in the car at 5:00 pm. Remember that our tour bus is a white bus with the bus number Jin__X.
Everyone enters from this side. This used to be the Shi family’s inner accounting room and is now used as a celebrity photo exhibition room. Let's go in and take a look. Nearly 40 movies and TV series were filmed in the entire compound. Like "Sword Laughter", starring Andy Lau; "Sunrise", starring Xu Fan; "A Beauty in the Rain", directed by Liu Dekai, starring Zhou Xun and Zhang Xinzhe. Many celebrities have also come to Shijia Courtyard, such as the famous program hosts Jing Yidan and Cui Yongyuan. In addition, the famous film performance artist Shi Hui is the sixth generation grandson of the Shi family. He directed and starred in the movie "This Life".
Now let’s take a look at the Yangliuqing Painting Exhibition, which is famous both at home and abroad. Let’s first look at the first exhibition room. What is displayed here are representative works from the Kangxi-Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The New Year paintings of this period mainly showed people’s lives and historical stories, with prominent characters and attention to the depiction of the characters’ expressions. Look at this painting "Fu Shan Ji Qing" is an allegorical painting of a lady doll with a plot. Its meaning is to use the homophony of Chinese characters to express auspiciousness. The word "bat" in bat is used to represent happiness, and the word "fan" in fan is used to represent happiness. The word "shan" of kindness is represented by the word "halberd" of sword, gun, sword and halberd for the auspicious word "ji", and the word "qing" of countless words is used to represent the word "qing" of celebration. You can take a look at some other paintings: "Lady's Spring Outing", "A House Full of Gold and Jade", "Stealing Immortal Grass" and "Ten Days of Absence". The New Year paintings displayed here are representative works from the Jiaqing-Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. They have many characters and complex backgrounds. "Four Arts Yaju" uses a few colors such as blue, black, and gray to achieve an elegant and light effect. This color application method is called "loose orchid". In the middle of the exhibition room are the five major processes of making New Year pictures expressed in the form of clay figurines: "outlining, engraving, overprinting, painting, and mounting." Now let's go to the second exhibition room to see the light box paintings. Shi Yuanshi's brother Shi Yuanjun organized the Chongwen Academy in the fourth year of Guangxu's reign and set it up in Wenchang Pavilion. After the Wenchang Pavilion was completed, he decided to make a set of twenty-four wall lamps, each of which was from Guangxu. Pick a proverb from a good book of scriptures, create a drawing according to the meaning of the sentence, and draw it on the light box. Eight of them are now on display in the museum.
Let’s go forward and take a look at the wedding customs exhibition room. On the right is the sedan chair used for weddings in ancient times. The sedan chair has two layers, and the inner layer is called the sedan core. On the left is a wedding scene made of clay figurines, surrounded by displays of wedding customs. Fengguan was usually rented from the sedan house. "Lianshengzhai" was a brand that rented wedding supplies at that time, which is equivalent to the place where wedding dresses are rented now. Hat tubes, incense burners, comb boxes, mirrors, and food jars are all dowry items.
This was originally the florist’s hall, but is now open to the public as a brick carving exhibition room. These brick carvings are taken from residential buildings in Yangliuqing Town, from which you can see the architectural style of the thousand-year-old town. The first exhibition room displays mountain-top brick sculptures, the second exhibition room displays gatehouse brick sculptures, and the third exhibition room displays screen-wall brick sculptures. This painting is called "Three Lots of Good Luck and Longevity". The peach represents good health and longevity, the pomegranate represents many children, and the Buddha's hand can hold wealth. Long life, many children, and lots of wealth are therefore called "Three Lots of Good Luck, Longevity". The brick carving in the fourth exhibition room is called "Feng Hou". The old monkey carries the young monkey up the tree to steal the peach and touches the honeycomb. The bee stings on the monkey's back, which is homophonic to the "back-carrying loris".
Let’s take a look at the commercial exhibition room. Shown here is a street at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, which reproduces the prosperous scene of Yangliuqing Town at that time. It can be said to be the epitome of a large commercial port in northern China. Please take a look at the couplets on both sides of the shop. The couplets on both sides of the shop are very interesting. At the entrance of the barber shop is "First-class business, top priority". The fried cake shop's saying goes, "The cake is named after the Five Blessings, and the cake is bestowed upon the Double Ninth Festival." The pawn shop is like "the green shop flies away and comes back again, and the silver given to others is given back to me." We will go to the Buddhist temple later.
In the middle of the temple, Guanshiyin Bodhisattva is enshrined. At the top of the room, there is a statue of Guan Gong, and at the bottom, there are three statues of blessing, wealth and longevity. The Buddhist hall is a typical raised-beam frame structure with four beams and eight columns. The structure of this kind of house is very strong, which is often said that the house will not collapse if the wall falls.
There are three hanging flower gates in the Shijia courtyard. The vertical pillars are carved into three different patterns according to the three flowering periods of the lotus. They are named respectively: "Budding Waiting to Bloom" and "Pistils Spreading Catkins". "The lotus is full of seeds."
Let’s first look at the first hanging flower gate, which is “in bud and ready to bloom”. It is the most exquisite of the three hanging flower gates. There are two drum-holding stones in the middle. The outside of the drum-holding stone is an elephant head, which is "auspicious", and the inside is a crane and a deer rejuvenating.
At that time, the stone alone required 500 taels of silver, and it took two masons a year to complete the carving. There are four-season flower patterns on the wooden lattice of the hanging flower door, which symbolizes peace in the four seasons if you walk through this door. Let us walk through this door to see the theater together.
The Shi Family Courtyard has three unique features: archway, theater building and Wenchang Pavilion. What we see now is one of the three unique theaters. The outside of the roof of the theater is an iron sheet with the Chinese character "大生" riveted into it by copper rivets. Famous Peking Opera performing artists Yu Shuyan, Sun Juxian and Gong Yunfu all sang here. The characteristics of the entire theater are warm in winter, cool in summer, and good sound quality. The walls of the theater building are made of polished bricks with seams, which are tight and seamless. There is a flue through the wall. 200 kilograms of charcoal are fed from the furnace outside the flower hall to burn for a day and night. Although the winter wind is biting, the inside of the building is as warm as spring. In the summer, the air is circulated in the hearth in the theater building, and the square bricks and bluestones are hard and cool. There are side doors on the east and west sides to allow air convection. The space is high, and the windows are not designed to let in direct sunlight but are exceptionally bright, making people feel very cool. The bricks used in the construction of the theater were specially fired by designated persons in three Ma Ti kilns. After being polished with special tools, they were dry-arranged and stacked, and they were glued with white ash paste made from Yuanxiao flour. The walls were integrated into one piece. In addition, the walls were high in the north and low in the south, so the echoes did not collide. The partition door in the north could play sound, and the sound collection effect was excellent. It was such a big show. There is no need for loudspeakers, so you can hear clearly not only in corners, but also in the courtyard. Therefore, Shifu Theater can be called "a unique folk opera".

The Drum Tower is located in the southeast of Hongqiao District, Tianjin, at the junction with Heping District, adjacent to Haihe River in the east, Xima Road in the west, and Nanma Road in the south. To the north is Beima Road, with the Drum Tower as the center, and there are southeast and northwest streets, which are now commercial pedestrian streets.
On the morning of April 30, we took the Harmony train from Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin West Railway Station, then took the 840 bus through the Italian Style District and got off at Gulou Station on Nanma Road, and walked north Gulou South Street.
