Four years ago, I left Beijing and devoted myself to the flow of students studying in Malaysia. My destination is subangjaya, Malaysia, which is about 4, kilometers away from China. Fortunately, at that time, under the guidance of the consultant of Malaysia Oriental Students Study Abroad Co., Ltd., I didn't spend a penny on agency fees to come to Tailai University. Accompanied by Liu Wei and Martin, the heads of logistics services of Malaysia Oriental Students STUDY Abroad Co., Ltd., I soon became familiar with life in Malaysia. Looking at my study life in Malaysia, I can summarize it with four words: study, ENVIRONMENT, EMOTION and DISAPPOINTMENT. SEED (meaning seed) consisting of the letters at the beginning of the English words of these four words is exactly my current state. Here, I would like to thank the teachers who have helped me-the ancestors of Malaysia-Mr. Liu Wei, and the teacher elain at the International Language Center.
I use four simple words to describe my views on studying in Malaysia and see if I can help the new students. STUDY
Although Malaysia is not a very good one. Generally speaking, most China students in Malaysia study in some private universities. Most of these institutions are jointly run with universities in third countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States and other countries that are popular for studying abroad. Schools can obtain relevant credits or diplomas to attract local and overseas students, avoid or reduce visa fees, and directly obtain diplomas from third-country universities in Malaysia. The courses that China students in these institutions need to complete are often divided into three parts, the first is English intensive, the second is basic university courses, that is, college preparatory courses, and the third is formal university or junior college courses. The teaching methods adopted by Malaysian universities are slightly different from those in China. Every week, four to six class hours are arranged for each subject, and each class hour is one hour, of which 5% are taught by teachers and 5% are practiced by students in class. As long as they have a good English foundation, the average China students will not have much problem. However, in recent years, students studying in Malaysia are generally young, and some of them have left their parents before completing high school courses and embarked on the road of studying abroad, which has brought great inconvenience to the study of university courses and failed exams. They have to retake failed subjects, which invisibly prolongs the time of studying abroad and increases the economic burden on their families. Advise those new students. If they are not conscious enough, it is better not to study abroad. Generally, very good universities have to study in pre-university.
If their grades are not good enough, it is recommended to choose moderate schools, such as Indi University, Taylor University, Sitya University, Asia-Pacific University of Science and Technology, Lin Guorong University of Creative Technology, etc.
ENVIRONMENT
As we all know, As a tropical country, Malaysia's climate is similar to that of southern China, such as Hainan Province. Many students from northern China can't adapt to the local climate and water sources when they first arrive here. Malaysia is composed of many ethnic groups, among which Malays, Indians and Chinese are the majority. Fortunately, there are a large number of Chinese here, and China students can eat China food all over Malaysia. However, it is close to the equator, so many vegetables and fruits that are common in China cannot be planted, and all kinds of snacks and even special fruits in this area are rich in calories. Perhaps for this reason, most China female students studying in Malaysia are generally unable to escape the fate of getting fat due to lack of exercise and long-term intake of high-calorie food. The common languages in Malaysia are Malay and English. Almost all Malaysian citizens are proficient in Malay, and the popularity of English is quite high. Chinese people generally master Malay, English and Chinese (including various dialects such as Cantonese and Minnan). Due to geographical reasons, the English and Mandarin of local Chinese are generally not standard, with a strong local accent. China students generally have no language barriers, because there are a large number of Chinese living here. At the same time, of course, the improvement of English level is greatly delayed. We are in subang ss15 district, which is a local food center. Therefore, we often have supper with some foreign students in the middle of the night and practice our oral English. It is also a pleasure. As the office of Malaysia Oriental Students Study Abroad Co., Ltd. is also in SS15 district, we often get together in their offices. Their offices have also become the focus of our entertainment on Saturday and Sunday.
EMOTION
The motherland is always a source of pride for international students in their study and life.
I remember that in the Asian Cup the year before last, and before the opening of this year's Olympic Games, when the Olympic flame came to Kuala Lumpur, students often spontaneously asked China students to download the national anthem from the Internet in the form of MP3, and then play it together at the same time, so that the national song would resound throughout the school. Although this is only a beautiful idea, the sincerity of overseas students to the motherland can be seen. In addition to patriotism, it is homesickness. During the traditional festivals in China, China students with mobile phones can be seen everywhere on campus, and various dialects are intertwined, which is really interesting. Because Malaysia is not far from China, and the scheduled return flights from Malaysia to major cities in China are not too expensive, most international students have the experience of going home for vacation during the whole study abroad. It is precisely these short time to return to China that makes most students miss their families more and cannot study with peace of mind. Someone sighed: "If you are studying in the United States, Canada or Europe, you are too far away from home and dead, and you will not often think about going home. And we, not far from home, don't go home, our hearts itch; When I got home, I couldn't get my heart back. Dilemma, dilemma! " Malaysia now allows international students to work in their spare time, but it is very cheap, only about RM 5 an hour, so international students have a lot of leisure time. In addition, some colleges attended by foreign students in China are located in remote towns, and their spiritual life is extremely difficult to meet, so it is very common for students to fall in love. Many new international students from China are looking for friends in the school, and soon they will get married. This phenomenon not only worries parents who are thousands of miles away, but also makes the surrounding students secretly wonder: How can these relationships in foreign countries be maintained when they return to China after their studies?
disposition
Malaysia's economic and cultural development can't really compare with China's rapid development. Overseas students from Beijing, Shanghai and other big cities in China are somewhat disappointed with Malaysia, which is also a developing country, because they don't know much about Malaysia. Students in other small and medium-sized cities sometimes have similar feelings when they talk about Malaysia. There are even a few students who have just arrived. Not long after they got off the plane, they saw or heard something unsatisfactory and just packed up and left. Malaysia is a non-immigrant country, even if it marries with local people, it is difficult to obtain local residency. Almost none of the China students who come here to study have wild desires to emigrate, and most of them say that they will return to China immediately after their studies.
