This makes me feel ashamed. As a travel blogger, I think I should know their names even if I have never been to the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River once. But I didn't expect it to be 5A.
With shame and surprise, I visited the ancient town carefully and found that it still maintained its original ecology. More than 80% of the houses are made of wood, and most of them are single-storey except for a few double-storey buildings used as shops.
Chatting with the owner, I learned that the buildings under the river were basically from the Republic of China, and even half of them were from the Qing Dynasty. As we continued our tour, the mottled old colonnade verified the boss's words. These old houses feel that they will collapse at any moment, struggling to support them in the wind and rain.
The alleys in the ancient town crisscross, and the main street is connected with hundreds of alleys, interspersed left and right, forming a dense traffic network. Alleys are stone roads, and the roads are constantly pitted and uneven. When you walk on it, you can feel the massiness of history.
This river is thick enough that even the whole south of the Yangtze River can't find an ancient town thicker than it.
This river was formed in the late Spring and Autumn Period. At this time of China, the vassals fought to the death for the city, and the army needed food and grass. So in 486 BC, Fu Cha, the king of Wu, dug a ditch to connect the Yangtze River and Huaihe River to transport soldiers and grain. The ancient town of He Xia, which is connected with the Huaihe River, is the key node of the canal, and the ancient town began to rise.
Most ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River are products of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. In this way, this 2500-year-old river is the ancestor of Jiangnan ancient town.
Huai 'an is the intersection of Nanchuan and Beima, and it is also one of the prosperous cities along the Grand Canal. Naturally, there is less prosperity and richness under the river, which reached its peak in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. At that time, the salt industry was developed, and all the Huai salt produced in coastal areas was transported to the river. After inspection, it was distributed to various places for sale. In the Qing Dynasty, the court appointed a salt carrier to be stationed under the Huai 'an River to take charge of salt administration.
For a time, this river became an important commercial port along the canal, where the residences of dignitaries gathered. Merchants from all over the world promoted the birth of Huaiyang cuisine, and there were all kinds of special foods such as long fish banquet, glutinous rice balls and tea dumplings. According to "Xiazhihe", there are 108 streets, 44 bridges, 102 gardens, 63 archways and 55 temples in the ancient town, making it a place of outstanding people.
With money, education will naturally go up. The style of writing under the river is prosperous, and celebrities come forth in large numbers. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were 67 Jinshi and 65,438+02 Hanlin, which was called "three Ding Jia complete" in history.
Therefore, this river has become a place where scholars oppose poetry. There is a literary building in the ancient town, which was originally an ancient hotel and is now open to the public free of charge. There is a couplet in the Wenlou, written by an academician. It is said that he thought of a couplet on a whim and wanted to invite people around him to make a couplet.
As a result, when the second part came out, the audience from all walks of life cheered, and everyone thought hard for a long time and still couldn't figure out the first part. The boss carved couplets on the wall, hoping anyone passing by could tell them. Therefore, for more than 200 years, no one can tell them that they have become a story under the river.
The bottom line is: little sister, go up the river and go down, and eat from north to south.
To say that the level of this academician is really high, the bottom line is very simple at first glance, and it is extremely difficult to ponder it carefully. First of all, "little sister" and "going upstream" each contain a pair of antonyms, one is the person and the other is the place. "Sit south and eat north" contains four directions. Interestingly, "things" have been materialized again.
I thought for a while, and as expected, I didn't think of it. There's nothing to be ashamed of. If it's so easy, it won't be absolute.
If you like ancient towns, you can take a walk by the river, feel the vicissitudes of history, and then turn around and come to Wenlou to see if your talent can match this photo.
