In Wuxi, self-guided subway travel is generally quite convenient. Wuxi’s main subway stations almost all cover famous tourist attractions, such as the Nanchang Street Ancient Canal and Sunac Paradise on Line 1, and the Sunac Paradise on Line 2.

Plum Garden and Chong'an Temple on Line 4, Huishan Ancient Town and Li Lake on Line 4 are all popular attractions.

However, Wuxi's subway network has not yet been formed, and only three lines are currently in official operation. Therefore, some high-level scenic spots, such as Lingshan Scenic Spot, Yuantouzhu, Three Kingdoms City, etc., are not yet accessible by subway and require integrated public transportation to reach them.

Below is a three-day plan for a self-guided tour of the Wuxi subway for travelers traveling by bus for reference.

The design of this itinerary is based on the principle of first traveling far and then approaching.

Mashan is located in Taihu Lake 15 kilometers away from Wuxi city. It is the farthest tourist attraction in Wuxi city, so it is scheduled on the first day.

Among them, Meiyuan is a 4A-level scenic spot, and the tour time is 2-3 hours; Lingshan Scenic Spot is a 5A-level scenic spot, and the tour time is 4 hours; the most beautiful scenery and performances in Nianhua Bay are at night, so we choose to enter Nianhua Bay after 3 p.m.

The prime time to visit the scenic spot is between 18:00-19:30.

The overall transportation route arrangement is as follows: Take Leyou Line 2 from Nianhuawan back to Meiyuan, transfer to Metro Line 2 and go directly to Sanyang Square Station 3, then follow Metro Line 2 to Sanyang Square Station, Nanchan Temple Station, Tantan Station

Duqiao Station, you can travel station by station and take the subway throughout the journey, which is very convenient.

This one-day itinerary mainly revolves around Metro Line 1. The scenic spots corresponding to the main stations are: Sanyang Square Station, the interchange station of Metro Line 1 and 2, can reach Chong'an Temple Pedestrian Street, Gongyuan Garden, A Bing's former residence, Qian Zhongshu's former residence,

From Nanchan Temple Station on Metro Line 1, you can reach Nanchan Temple Cultural Street, where you can experience Wuxi’s traditional temple fair culture and delicacies such as Mu Guiying Cake Balls, Wang Yuxing Meat Shop, and Plum Blossom Cake.

From Tanduqiao Station on Metro Line 1, you can reach the Qingmingqiao Historical and Cultural District, visit Wuxi’s ancient canal cultural sceneries such as Nanchang Street, Nanxiatang, and Dayao Road, and experience Wuxi’s local attractions such as Laoniuwoli, Taomi Shui, and Dagong Hotel.

This plan covers the entire subway journey without transferring. The main lines include: Metro Line 1 departs from Tanduqiao Station and gets off at Changguangxi Station at the first stop. This is the National Digital Industrial Park Hualaiwu Film and Television City, where there are many film and television-related tourism experiences.
