Zhong tou zhen was founded in the Han Dynasty. According to legend, Liu Heng, Emperor of Han Dynasty, was filial to his mother Ji Bo. After Ji Bo's death, Emperor Wendi buried the coffin here according to his mother's orders and built a cemetery to protect the mausoleum. He sent troops to guard the mausoleum, and North Korean dignitaries visited him every year.
