Let's look at the seventy-seventh poem of the original Journey to the West, "Demon tyrants nature and worship truth as one": the demon captured Tang Priest in the temple, but stopped the heat. The second monster ordered Pig to be tied to the eaves post in front of the temple, and the third monster ordered Friar Sand to be tied to the eaves post behind the temple, but the old demon kept pestering the Tang Priest. The third monster said, "Brother, why are you hugging him?" Or eat it raw? But it's not interesting. This thing can't compare with that fool, so it can be eaten as a meal. This is a rare thing in Upper State. You must take it out when it is cloudy, clean it, guess the rules, and then eat it with a fine blow. " As can be seen from the original text, Dapeng with Golden Wings is very particular about how to eat the Tang Priest's meat, and has developed a set of eating methods. You can't eat it steamed or raw, but before eating it on a cloudy day, you should wash the Tang Priest, punch in while drinking, and have music to entertain you, so that it will be fun to eat.
However, it is too hasty and unreliable to infer that Dapeng with golden wings ate the meat of Tang Priest just based on the presumed "eating method". First of all, the three monsters in the Lion Camel Ridge struggled to catch up with the Tang Priest. Tang Priest's meat is hard to come by, and monsters attach great importance to Tang Priest, so of course they can't eat Tang Priest casually.
At the same time, in the eyes of monsters, Tang monk meat has the function of immortality. They are worried that the taste and efficacy of Tangseng meat will be affected if the cooking method is improper, so Dapeng with Golden Wings is cautious about Tangseng meat. These three monsters have extraordinary origins, and they have a good relationship. On weekdays, they are brothers, and they attach great importance to the feelings between brothers. Golden-winged Dapeng only treats Tang monk meat as a delicacy on the table of brothers' party.
