This is where Shanshan and her three girls love life, photography, travel and food.
Zhongshan, Guangdong, is located in the south-central part of the Pearl River Delta. It faces the Lingding Ocean to the east. Among the eight major waterways of the Pearl River, three of them, Modaomen, Hengmen and Hongqili, pass through the city and go to the sea. It was called "Xiangshan" in ancient times. It is a famous national historical and cultural city and one of the representative cities of Guangfu culture. The "Xiangshan Culture" originated in Zhongshan is an important source of modern Chinese culture. Zhongshan is a place with outstanding people and celebrities. It is the hometown of the great man Dr. Sun Yat-sen. At the same time, Zhongshan is also an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and one of the regional central cities in Guangdong.
After visiting the ancient landmark "Yandun Pagoda" in Zhongshan (friends who are interested in learning more can read the previous article "The "Ancient Landmark" in Zhongshan, Guangdong, which the locals call "Wenbi", is one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Fragrant Mountain" "One"), the three girls Shanshan passed through the pedestrian street, crossed the bridge, and came to Qijiang Park.
Qijiang Park is located in the center of Zhongshan City. It is a theme park renovated on the former site of Yuezhong Shipyard in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. The design of this park when it was renovated was very interesting. It introduced some Western environmentalism, ecological restoration and urban renewal design concepts. It is a successful example of the protection and reuse of industrial sites. The project of Qijiang Park has won many awards at home and abroad: in 2002, it won the American Society of Landscape Architects Annual Honorary Design Award, the China Architectural Art Award, the National Art Exhibition Gold Award and the China Modern Outstanding National Architecture Comprehensive Gold Award, and the 2008 World Urban Waterfront Award. The "Highest Honor Award" for Outstanding Design, the 2009 ULI Asia-Pacific Outstanding Honor Award... Therefore, the three girls Shanshan took the time to visit the park.
Walking along the Qijiang River, approaching the entrance of Qijiang Park, I saw an abandoned railway with some mechanical shapes on it, which seemed to be full of artistic design. Walking forward from the railway is Qijiang Park. At this time, Qijiang Park still retains the most representative plants, buildings and production tools on the original site of Zhongshan Yuezhong Shipyard. The designer has artistically processed it, integrating the docks, skeletal water towers, railway tracks, and machines. , gantry crane and other original iconic objects are connected in series to record the shipyard's past glory and red memories, forming a complete story.
Let’s turn back time and look back at the predecessor of Qijiang Park: Zhongshan Yuezhong Shipyard. Yuezhong Shipyard is the first newly built factory after the liberation of Zhongshan and the first provincial state-owned factory. It was once a symbol of the development of Zhongshan's industrialization. It started in 1954 and ended in 1999. It has gone through an arduous and meaningful journey in the industrialization process of New China.
In the early days, the Yuezhong Shipyard mainly built wooden marine fishing boats. In the 1960s, Guangdong began to strengthen inland river passenger transportation. The Yuezhong Shipyard built the province's first iron motor passenger ship, the "Hongyu", which was later renamed the "Red Star" and gradually replaced the wooden "Huawei Ferry". Since then, the shipyard has mainly produced sand and steel inland river and coastal transportation ships. In order to cooperate with national policies, Yuezhong Shipyard later built a number of transport ships specifically for exporting materials to and from the province, Hong Kong and Macao. Regrettably, the shipyard began to decline in the 1980s and ceased production in 1999. In the same year, the Zhongshan Municipal Government decided to transform this place, which is the scene we see now.
Shanshan and her three girls walked around the park. There were several impressive sights inside, such as the Amber Water Tower, Skeleton Water Tower, Red Memory, and Zhongshan Art Museum. At the same time, the docks, skeletal water towers, railway tracks, machines, gantry cranes, etc. in these landscapes give people a retro and nostalgic feeling. Coupled with the design layout full of sense of design, they are very suitable for taking pictures. If you love taking pictures, you can take pictures in minutes. Make a literary blockbuster.
Of course, in addition to taking pictures, you can also savor the design here: The Amber Water Tower on Rongshu Island on the edge of the Qijiang River is made of a waste water tower covered with a metal frame glass shell. The designer Thinking that it was like insects from ancient centuries solidified in amber, it was named the Amber Water Tower; the Skeleton Water Tower was made by stripping off the cement from an old water tower, leaving the steel bars in place. The designer believed that it was just like the people in the world. Regardless of men and women, high or low, they will eventually end up like a pair of bones; Zhongshan Art Museum is the main building of Qijiang Park. The exterior wall columns are made of lemon-yellow cement columns, with iron-blue I-beam steel frames and large floor-to-ceiling glass. Separated from it, the entire design is like a factory workshop...walk slowly and look slowly, and you will find different things.
Qijiang Park, the entire park is surrounded by walls, and the streams are cleverly used to define the park, so that the park is harmoniously connected with the surroundings. It is really comfortable to be in such a place in the city!
