Bengbu City is a transitional zone between the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain and the Jianghuai hilly area, at the end of the Jianghuai watershed. The territory is dominated by plains, with hills scattered in the south, the northwest of the ground tends to the southeast, and the natural slope drops to about one ten thousand. Most of the urban areas are located on the south bank of Huaihe River. There are more than 20 mountains in the east, south and west of the city except an isolated mountain in the city center. In the urban area of 445.4 square kilometers, there are 50 square kilometers of hills and mountains, and the water surface 15.3 square kilometers. Landforms are mainly divided into three types: plains, hills and terraces. China's plains are dominated by the flood plains of the Yellow River, and there are also shallow lowlands between rivers, low terraces with hills in rivers and flood plains beside rivers. The platform is mainly distributed in the wavy area south of the river, and consists of loess of Qizui Formation, which is divided into flat hills and inclined hills. Bengbu hills are mainly distributed in the suburbs south of Huaihe River, which is the northern edge of Jianghuai hills. Most of the bedrock in the hills is exposed by weathering and denudation, with occasional residual slope deposits, which are basically undeveloped and have thick bones. According to the ground height, it can be divided into high hills and low hills.
