1. Partying for food

When Su Dongpo was twenty years old, he went to the capital to take the imperial examination. Six arrogant people looked down upon him and decided to prepare food and wine to invite Su Dongpo to a banquet, intending to tease him. Su Dongpo happily went after receiving the invitation. Before taking the table and using chopsticks, one of the ministers proposed a drinking order. The content of the drinking order must quote historical figures and events. After the order is completed, you can eat a plate of food alone. The other five people cheered continuously.

"I'll come first." The older one said, "Jiang Ziya is fishing on the Weishui River!" After that, he took away a plate of fish. "Qin Shubao sells horses in Chang'an!" The second man took away the horse meat with dignity. "Su Ziqing Beihu Shepherd!" The third person took the mutton without showing any signs of weakness.

"Zhang Yide sells meat in Zhuo County!" The fourth one shouted anxiously and stretched out his hand to pick off the meat. "Guan Yunchang Jingzhou scrapes the bones!" The fifth one couldn't wait to snatch the bones. "Zhuge Liang grows vegetables in Longzhong!" The sixth one arrogantly picked up the last plate of vegetables.

After all the dishes were served, and the six people were happily preparing to eat and laugh at Su Dongpo, Su Dongpo calmly slapped the table and shouted: "Qin Shihuang annexed the six countries!" All six dishes were brought to him to enjoy, and the six people could only stare.

2. The examiner sets the questions

When Su Dongpo was demoted to Huangzhou as deputy envoy for regiment training, he gave lectures there and trained many well-known students. The imperial court sent an examiner, who was called to inspect and give lectures, but actually to check what was going on. When the examiner arrived, he wanted to suppress Dongpo's reputation. Early one morning, he said to Dongpo: "Xueshi Su is famous all over the world, and his students must also be full of articles. I want to see something, please find some people to come for interviews."

Su Dongpo immediately selected ten students. Come and see the examiner. The examiner pointed to the pagoda outside and wrote the first couplet: The pagoda is pointed and has seven floors in all directions.

As a result, the students couldn't express their regrets. They were all ashamed, lowered their heads and waved their hands. The examiner said with a mocking tone: "Scholar Su, this..." Su Dongpo said calmly: "They have already figured it out. The correct second line is: the jade hand shakes, and the five fingers are three long and two short."

The examiner was speechless and had to laugh at himself and said: "Scholar Su is really well-deserved, I admire him!"

3. Scolding the monk

One day, Su Dongpo visited a temple and listened. He said that the presiding monk in the temple had misbehaved, which made him feel disgusted. But the host was respectful to the famous Su Dongpo, and shamelessly asked Su Dongpo for help. Su Dongpo held the pen in his hand and wrote a couplet in a hurry: When the sun goes down and the incense fades, remove a little of your worldly mind; when the fire is gone and the furnace is cold, come and tie your horse tightly.

The abbot was so happy that he hung the couplet high. Many people laughed when they saw it. It turns out that this couplet tells two crossword puzzles, and the answer is: bald donkey.

4. Invite friends to catch lice

It is said that Su Dongpo had a sister who was extremely smart and was usually called "Little Sister Su". Once, Su Dongpo invited Huang Tingjian, whom he had not seen for a long time, as a guest and went out to greet him personally. Seeing her brother's happy look, Su Xiaomei wrote a couplet to joke with her brother, "Brother invites Shuangyue to the house." "Shuangyue" combines with the word "friend".

Su Dongpo also liked to joke with his sister, so he immediately replied, "My little sister catches half wind in front of the window." The traditional Chinese character for "风" is "风", and "Banfeng" means "lice". It means that the little girl is catching lice in front of the window. Su Xiaomei turned around and left in anger.

5. Bones facing each other

One day, Su Dongpo and Foyin took a boat trip to Slender West Lake in Yangzhou. When the boat reached the middle of the lake, Foyin suddenly picked up a fan with a poem written by Su Shi on it, threw it into the water, and at the same time loudly said: "Poem of Dongpo (Corpse) on the Water of Water".

Su Dongpo was stunned for a moment, then understood. He looked up and saw a dog chewing on a bone by the lake, and blurted out: "The dog is chewing the (monk's) bone on the river." The two looked at each other and laughed.
