The total area of Caiqiao Mangrove Nature Reserve is 525 mu. Mangroves, which are widely grown, are trees and shrubs that grow in the intertidal zone of tropical and subtropical coastal areas. They are rare and endangered plants in the world because their juices can be used as red dyes. There are many kinds of mangroves here, such as forest olive, sea lily, hornbeam, white bone soil, Kandelia candel, tung flower, etc. All kinds of trees are intertwined and interdependent, growing along the shore for nearly ten miles, which is not only a natural treasure house for scientific research, but also a strong defender against typhoons and tsunamis at sea. There are 26 species of mangrove plants, more than 4 species of semi-mangrove and mangrove associated plants, and 159 species of birds inhabit here. Here, it is an important stop for many international migratory waterfowl and an important link connecting birds of different biological boundaries. Among them, there are more than 3 species of birds included in the Sino-Australian Agreement on the Protection of Migratory Birds, and more than 7 species included in the Sino-Japanese Agreement on the Protection of Migratory Birds. In 1986, in order to protect the mangroves here, Lingao County designated Caiqiao Mangrove Nature Reserve, which was designated as a county-level nature reserve. Caiqiao Memory Mangrove Wetland Tourist Resort is a comprehensive tourist resort, which is based on mangrove wetland resources and Limei culture in Lingao, with nostalgia as the main line, pastoral scenery and rural ecology as the characteristics, and integrates sightseeing and leisure tourism. On the basis of "original ecology, health preservation and nature protection", it has been built according to local conditions, supporting theme leisure areas such as time memory dining area, fisherman's culture earthen kiln area, old salt coffee shop, lover's plank road, cruise wharf, bird-watching platform, lighthouse theme sightseeing area, melon and vegetable picking area, etc., which can enjoy tea, sightseeing, entertainment, food, shopping and experience picking fun.
