Geumcheon-gu is the most representative industrial area in Seoul. According to the five-year economic development plan, it was the first Korean industrial park (now Seoul Digital Industrial Park) built in South Korea since 1965. Parks 2 and 3 are located in Jinchuan District. There are approximately 1,100 manufacturing companies settled here. There are many permanent clothing discount stores in the park, and it is famous throughout the country as a shopping attraction. In order to develop this area into a cutting-edge high value-added industrial area, it is currently being developed into a clothing design industry zone (second park) for clothing, fur, etc. and a knowledge and information communication industry zone (third park). In addition, there are many small-scale factories scattered around the Doksan-dong area. In Siheung 3-dong, there is the Siheung Industrial Material Distribution Center and the Central Steel Materials Mall, which were built on a large scale in 1987 and serve as an industrial distribution base.
