A trip to the three Atlantic islands
Travel notes: a trip to the three islands

From 2019-10-18 to 20 19- 10-30, I visited the "madeira island" in Portugal. Spanish "gran canaria" and "Tenerife Island". No. 18-22 is located in madeira island; Gran canaria 22nd-25th; Tenerife island 25-30.

(i) Madeira Island (Portugal)

Funchal in Madeira Island is the capital of the autonomous region and the hometown of Cristiano Ronaldo, with an area of nearly 800 square kilometers and a population of nearly 250,000. Because the geographical location is close to the equator, the sunshine is better, the sea temperature is higher, and it has the reputation of "Pearl of the Atlantic", so there are more people visiting here all year round. There are many hotels in Madeira Island, mainly concentrated on the coastline of Funchal, the capital, and correspondingly there are many restaurants. It is understood that many tourists often come to vacation.

The average altitude of Madeira Island is very high, and there is little flat land by the sea. Most towns and villages are built on mountains, and most houses in Funchal are also built on hillsides. When the lights are on at night, it is spectacular and beautiful. In addition to good climatic conditions, Madeira Island has good natural tourism resources, including (1)Porta Sao lourenco's 3 km seaside cliff hiking landscape, which is beautiful step by step. (2) Camara de Lobos, a small fishing port on the outskirts of Funchal, has beautiful scenery, and Churchill has come here for many holidays. (3) There is a group of large natural seaside swimming pools in porta moniz, a seaside town in the northeast corner of the island. When the tide is long, the sea water rushes into the swimming pool, and when the tide is low, it is a calm swimming pool. The natural swimming pool is built on a rock, which is very beautiful. (4) There are a group of towering mountains near pico ruivo, the central peak of the island, with the altitude above 1500. There are several hiking routes, which are often foggy, steep and beautiful. (5) On the coastline not far from Camara de lobos, there is Lobos Giraud, the second highest cliff in the world, with a height of 580m. There is an observation deck above. Although it is not big, the ground is transparent glass, which is not only beautiful at first sight, but also steep and exciting. (6) There are two botanical gardens connected by cable cars on the mountainside of Fengshaer, where many tropical plants are planted. Under the church next to the botanical garden, there is a 2-kilometer-long traditional sliding rattan blue car amusement project. 25 euros for one person and 35 euros for two people, both of which are downhill. Two "drivers" wear shoes with car tires as soles and protect them on both sides, and brake the soles to control the downward speed, which is very distinctive and interesting. (7) There is a C Ronaldo Museum on the pier in the city center, which displays all kinds of trophies and medals he won in his football career, which is an eye-opener. (8) There is a fruit shop in the downtown vegetable market that is very distinctive and beautifully decorated, which makes people feel a little amazing. Fruit shops are not only beautiful, but also some fruits are not easy to see in other places; (9)……

Through four days' observation, the main reasons for tourism in Madeira Island are: (1) pleasant climate and abundant sunshine; (2) There are abundant natural tourism resources, many hiking routes and many cliffs; (3) The transportation is convenient, and there is an inter-island expressway. (4) There are many hotels and restaurants of various grades, which can meet the needs of tourists; (5) It has the reputation of "Pearl of the Atlantic Ocean".

Ii) gran canaria (Spain)

Gran canaria is a circular island with an area of 1.560 square kilometers. Las palmas in the north is the capital of Canary Autonomous Region and las palmas. According to the statistics in 2005, gran canaria has a population of 820,000, including 380,000 in las palmas.

Gran canaria has a subtropical climate, with a small temperature difference between day and night and a small temperature difference throughout the year. It is the most pleasant place in the world. It is no exaggeration to say that it is like spring all the year round and it is a paradise for holiday tourists. There are a lot of beautiful beaches on the southern beaches, and there are various star-rated hotels on the hills above the beaches, which attract countless tourists to visit, travel and vacation all year round. The sand dunes in Maspalmas by the sea are beautiful, strange and spectacular, and the sand dunes in the sunset are particularly charming. There are many Little Beach hidden between rocks and cliffs, which is unique. The average temperature in winter is about 20℃ during the day and 26℃ in summer.

Gran canaria is also the place where San Mao, a famous female writer in Taiwan Province Province, and her husband Jose lived for six years. On the hill behind Little Beach in Playa del Honbre, they kept the house they had rented. Looking out from the house, the scenery is beautiful. Sanmao once wrote many beautiful and touching articles here. Here left her unforgettable sweet love with Jose, and also left her tragic sadness caused by Jose's unexpected death.

Port Morgan is a very beautiful sailing port, and there are many boats to see dolphins and whales every day. The magnificent cliffs on both sides embrace the beautiful beach and sailing harbor, where there is a large row of various desserts, coffees and delicacies, attracting a large number of people to enjoy the beautiful scenery, sunshine, sea water and delicacies every day.

In the south, there is a very beautiful beach on the coastline not far from Morgan Harbor, namely Praia de amador Beach. This is an arc beach. The beach is flat and the sea is clear. The bay is about 600 meters long. A wave dam is built outside to ensure the stability of the seawater inside. There is also a long row of shops and gourmet restaurants in the beach, which shows that it is a very lively place. We arrived after 2 pm on Wednesday, and the parking lot inside was still full. It is also a good place to enjoy sunshine, sea water, beaches and delicious food.

Maspalmas is a flat area in the south with a big sand dune. Because it is located in the southeast corner of the island, the terrain is flat and there is a strong north wind every day. Standing on a sand dune is like being in a real African desert. There are two long beaches around the dunes, playa de maspalmas and playa inglês, where the sand is very fine. It is said that the sand is blown from the Sahara desert in Africa.

In the center of las palmas, there is a house where Columbus once lived, and now it has been changed into Columbus Museum, which displays the warehouse on the ship at that time, Columbus's navigation route map and many materials on the ship at that time. It's very creative and worth seeing. The entrance fee is 4 euros. Not far from this house is the oldest church on the island, with a very beautiful design. There is also an old mercado (market) next to it, where the fruit stalls are beautifully arranged and the cactus juice (3 euros a cup) on the stalls is delicious.

Gran canaria is a volcanic island with rugged terrain. The highest peak in the middle is 1949 meters above sea level. There are rich volcanic geological relics in the deep mountain canyon, but I didn't go this time because of the time.

Through three days' travel observation, there are many holiday tourists in gran canaria. Personally, I think the main reasons are: (1) Four seasons are like spring, the temperature difference between day and night is small, it is close to the equator, and the sunshine temperature is good. There are more than 300 sunny days in a year, so it is a good place to travel and vacation all year round; (2) It developed earlier, with more hotels and restaurants, better infrastructure and a highway running through the north and south; (3) The Spanish government is tax-free, and prices and consumption are relatively low; (5) There are many beaches with different characteristics on the island, among which Praia Cantenas Beach in the city center is one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in Spain; (6) The Maspalmas sand dune is a world cultural heritage. Together with the sand dune, there are two famous beaches: Maspalmas Beach and ingels Beach, which have super tourist gathering ability.

(iii) Tenerife Island (Spain)

Tenerife (Spanish: Tenerife) is the largest of the seven islands in the Atlantic Canary Islands near the coast of Africa. It is also the most populous island in Spain, with a land area of 2,034 square kilometers and a population of 900,000, accounting for 43% of the total population of the Canary Islands.

Tenerife Island is also formed by volcanoes, and Tede Island (3718m), the highest point in Spain, is on this island. About 5 million tourists visit Tenerife every year, which is the most visited island in the Canary Islands. It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain and the world. Tenerife Island has the largest carnival in the world, and the carnival on Tenerife Island in Santa Cruz is listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

Tenerife Island is internationally known as the "eternal island", which is located at the same latitude as the Sahara Desert and enjoys a warm tropical climate. The average temperature in winter is18-24 C, the average temperature in summer is 24-28 C, and the sunshine time in the whole year exceeds 300 days. Except in mountainous areas, there is less precipitation, and the rainfall is mainly concentrated in the north and northeast of the island.

In the south, many star-rated hotels embrace the coastline of Ardeyeh, and Hollywood-style shopping centers, luxury goods and various restaurants are waiting for millions of tourists to flock here. Golf Adeje has a champion golf course with a hole of 18, plus various cafes and bars served by various internet cafes. Therefore, it is beautiful to spend a holiday in Tenerife.

Costa del Ardeyeh in Du Nan has various beaches and docks. Black and gold beaches attract tourists. The most popular ones are Playa Cristiano, Playa America, Playa Toviskas, Playa Delduk and many small and exquisite beautiful Little Beach. Teresi Tass Beach in the north, where white sand enters the Sahara, is one of the top ten famous beaches in Spain.

In the small town of Icod del las vinos on the west coast, there is a dragon's blood tree with a history of nearly 3,000 years, which is about 20 meters high. It is like a mushroom with many twigs on it, which is rare and unique. It grows beside a park in the town and attracts a lot of tourists every day. If you want to watch it up close, you need to pay 5 euros.

Before the development of tourism in the south, Puerta de la cruz was the most visited city in Tenerife, with many hotels, apartments and homestays. There are large multi-pool natural swimming pools, gray beaches and the famous "loro pargue" on the coastline. There are unique whale performances, dolphin performances, Hester performances and parrot performances in the park, as well as animal exhibitions, aquariums and underwater world. Many people come here every day, and the ticket is 32 euros.

Tenerife Island is most famous for its Tedel Volcano Geopark. Ted Peak is 3718m high. It is said that it is still steaming at the top of the mountain and is an active volcano. The last eruption was in 1798. The Geopark is a large-scale world cultural heritage. More than 3 million tourists come here to visit this geopark every year, and many European tourists still hike on the above routes and enjoy it.

Teresi Tass Beach in the north, near the capital San gruss, is one of the top ten famous beaches in Spain, with white sand entering the Sahara desert. On a sunny morning, it is very beautiful to shoot this beach from above the expressway.

Compared with gran canaria, Tenerife Island has more tourists all the year round. In addition to many beautiful beaches, there is another main reason: there is a volcanic geological park and Ted Peak (a world cultural heritage). The two islands are very close, less than 80 kilometers, and the ordinary ferry takes 1.5 hours, which is very convenient. The ferry can take a car. There are also many car rental companies on this island, which are cheap and convenient. Hotels are not expensive, many European countries have direct flights, and ticket prices are not high, which are the reasons for promoting the development of local tourism.

We stayed in Tenerife for five days and had a lot to learn. There are still many places we haven't been to. If we really want to know a place, we must stay for a long time, understand it, experience it and enjoy it.
