It is about 130 kilometers from Yibin City to Yaoba Ancient Town. One is a pure expressway, which takes 20 minutes faster. But I recommend taking the road that combines expressways and provincial roads. Although the distance is a little longer, the time is a bit slower.

Yaoba Ancient Town is right next to the expressway exit, and the transportation is indeed very convenient.

But the biggest advantage of parking in the parking lot is that you can appreciate the scenery of this ancient town from the beginning.

When I came to the beginning, there was a plaque that had gone through many vicissitudes of life. The words on it were hard to read, but it seemed like a door to time and space. Through it, the rows of green tile roofs below indicated that I would touch another world.

Going down the uneven steps, the sparse crowds were surrounded by various shops along the path. All kinds of products came to the face, but they did not appear too philistine.

On the ancient street, the most popular items sold are the local specialty freshly fried sweet potato starch cakes, various local specialties such as peppercorns, black beans, dried radish, etc.

Continuing forward, there are still some places to visit. It is said that this ancient town is called Qian Li and Hou Zhou. The first half was built by Li Jinshi and the second half was built by Zhou Juren, so I went to visit Zhou Juren’s palace.

But after all, I was not born in archaeology, and there was basically no introduction to the scenic spots. I could only take a quick look at them, but I didn’t see anything special.

The only thing is that the patios set up in ancient buildings were really creative. They not only increased the lighting, but also placed green plants to add vitality, adding luster to the houses that lacked glass and lacked sunlight at that time. The wisdom of the ancients was endless!

Then I went to see Ciyun Temple. In addition to feeling that it has a long history, I couldn't get any more praise.

As for another scenic spot, Niangqin Ancient Banyan Tree, I didn’t find anything special. It can only be said that these scenery only add historical color to the ancient town, but they fail to improve the cultural heritage and viewing level of the ancient town. It is a pity.

On the ancient street, more than 10 shops with time-honored and authentic red soup mutton signs have aroused the greed in my stomach. However, I know that restaurants in tourist areas are expensive and unauthentic, so I ended my tour of the ancient town.

After that, I went to Yaoba Town to find a place for locals to eat and drink. On a street where locals eat and live, I saw a shop with a unique name - Sweet Potato Rice and Mutton Restaurant. There were many people sitting inside.

The mutton is indeed goat meat and is very chewy. People with bad teeth are advised not to try it.

Although it is a red soup, the mutton still has its original flavor and needs to be dipped in seasonings.

The seasoning should be a special chili sauce, which tastes good.

The overall feeling is that the meat is firm, the smell is less, and the soup is delicious. It is worth eating.

But what surprised me the most was the seasoning of bean curd, which is a blend of rapeseed oil seasoning and the unique bean aroma. It has a distinctive personality and rich taste. Bai Yueguang belongs to a specific group of people. If you like this, you must try it.

Later I went to visit Yaoba Yi - a newly built ancient town in the local area. The streets are full of goods, with no characteristics and no people. It is estimated that it will eventually be lost to the public like the Longtan Water Town or Xilai Ancient Town.

The entire Yaoba Ancient Town tour lasted only 2 hours, so I went to another scenic spot not far away - Fawang Temple.

Fawang Temple, supported by various stone pillars, is old but not dilapidated.

Because it is deep in the mountains, it still maintains its simple and solemn style.
