Quanzhou City is part of Fujian Province.

Quanzhou is a prefecture-level city on the southeast coast of Fujian Province, referred to as Quan or Li, also known as Licheng and Citong City.

It borders Fuzhou to the north, Xiamen to the south, and Taiwan Island to the east. It has a subtropical maritime monsoon climate and superior climate conditions.

During the Liang Tianjian Period in the Southern Dynasties (502-519), Nan'an County was established as a county government, marking the beginning of the establishment of local counties and county governments.
