Harbin Institute of Technology also has Zone I and Zone II, including Weihai Campus and Shenzhen Research Institute. There are four campuses in total. All the undergraduate freshmen in the headquarters of Harbin Institute of Technology study in the basic department of Zone II, and all of them move back to Zone I except the municipal, civil and transportation colleges in their sophomore year.
