Sanxingdui site is located in the south bank of Yahe River in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. It is located 40 kilometers south of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, and 7 kilometers east of Guanghan City. The site group is an irregular trapezoid with wide south and narrow north. It is 5-6 kilometers long from east to west and 2-3 kilometers wide from north to south along the river. It is the largest and most important ancient cultural relic in Sichuan.
