1. Liu Yutian
Liu Yutian was the first professional explorer in the history of China. Liu Yutian, born on February 26th, 1942 in Changge County, Henan Province, was originally a cadre of Urumqi Railway Bureau in Xinjiang. Facing the challenge of foreigners, in May, 1984, he resolutely gave up everything and began to walk on the Great Wall of Wan Li. After more than a year's arduous journey, he became the first person in the world to walk on the Great Wall of Wan Li.
After that, he walked through the Silk Road, the Loess Plateau, Lop Nur, Xinjiang, climbed the Gradandong and Kunlun Snow Mountain, visited the Shennongjia savage, the Himalayan snowman, the flannel glacier, traveled along the Himalayas and the Yarlung Zangbo River, tried to climb Mount Everest, and crossed the Taklimakan and Gurbantong antiquities in China for three times.
So far, he has completed 43 research, travel and adventure projects. Hundreds of newspapers, magazines and televisions in the world can report his adventures, calling him "a rare traveler and explorer in the world in the 21th century".
2. Yu Chunshun
Yu Chunshun, known as "Thomas of China" and "Contemporary Xu Xiake", is a rare legend. He began to "visit all China on foot alone" on July 1st, 1988, and died in Lop Nur like a "fallen bronze statue" in June, 196.
In the past eight years, he has overcome numerous difficulties and dangers, traveled across mountains and rivers, visited 33 major settlements of ethnic minorities, and completed 59 exploration projects, with a total journey of 84,111 Li. Among them, he spent one and a half years crossing the "forbidden zone of life" at an altitude of about 5,111 meters, braving mudslides, avalanches, altitude sickness and so on, creating the first "roof of the world of the World" in human history.
3. Xu Xiake
Born in 1586-1641, Xu Hongzu, nicknamed Xiake, was an outstanding geographer and traveler in the Ming Dynasty. He loved the mountains and rivers of China all his life. In the old feudal era, he overcame unimaginable difficulties and traveled around the country from the age of 22 to explore the mysteries of nature.

I have investigated and recorded the mountains and rivers of more than 19 provinces and cities such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, etc., and I feel sick and drained my blood into the Travels of Xu Xiake. Therefore, he is known as the "Wonder Man of the Ages".
4. Zhang Qian
Zhang Qian (before 164-before 114) was born in Chenggu, Hanzhong County (now Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province). He was an outstanding diplomat, traveler and explorer in the Han Dynasty in China, and was a pioneer of the Silk Road. His hometown was Bowang Village, 2 kilometers south of Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province.
Zhang Qian is full of pioneering and adventurous spirit. In the second year of Jianyuan (139 BC), he was ordered by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, guided by Gan Fu, and led more than 111 people to the western regions, thus opening up the north-south road leading to the western regions in the Han Dynasty, that is, the famous Silk Road. Historian Sima Qian praised Zhang Qian's mission to the Western Regions as "hollowing out", which means "opening the road".
Zhang Qian is regarded as a great diplomat and explorer, a "pioneer of the Silk Road", "the first China man who opened his eyes to see the world" and "Columbus of the East". He spread the civilization of the Central Plains to the Western Regions, and introduced species such as blood horse, grape, alfalfa, pomegranate and flax from the countries in the Western Regions to the Central Plains, which promoted the exchanges between eastern and western civilizations.
5. Zheng He
Zheng He, a Hui nationality whose real name is Ma, was called "Sanbao eunuch" in the world, and was born in Kunyang Prefecture, Yunnan Province (now Kunyang Street, Jinning). China was a eunuch, navigator and diplomat of the Ming Dynasty. Zheng He's early experience is unknown. It is speculated that he was captured by the Ming army in the Ming Ping Yunnan War. In 1385, he went to Peiping with Fu Youde and others, and then entered Zhu Di's Yan Wangfu to serve. Later, because of his meritorious service in the battle of Jing Nan, he was given the surname Zheng and was promoted to the eunuch of the internal official prison.
Zheng He is wise and resourceful, knowing the soldiers and learning from the war. From 1415 to 1433, Zheng He made seven voyages to the Western Ocean and accomplished great feats in human history. During his seventh voyage to the Western Ocean, Zheng He died, and in 1433 (the eighth year of Xuande), he died in Guri. The ashes were buried in the underground palace of Hongjue Temple in Nanjing, now the tomb of Zheng He in Niushou Mountain in Nanjing or its cenotaph.
