Jiangdu District is the jurisdiction of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the middle of Jiangsu Province, bordering the Yangtze River in the south, Guangling District and Hanjiang District of Yangzhou City in the west, Taizhou City in the east and Gaoyou City in the north.
As early as five or six thousand years ago in the late Neolithic period, people in Jiangdu District were engaged in various agricultural production activities. The Spring and Autumn Period belonged to the State of Wu. On the occasion of Qin Chu, Xiang Yu wanted to build his capital in Guangling Linjiang, which was originally called Jiangdu.
Jiangdu district has been rated as one of the top 1 counties (cities) with basic competitiveness of county economy in China for ten consecutive years, and its sustainable development capacity ranks 9th in the whole province, and it has been identified as one of the first 1 innovative pilot cities in the whole province. In the 212 research report on the scientific development evaluation index system of small and medium-sized cities in China, the list of "Top 1 Comprehensive Strength of Municipal Districts in China in 212" (National Top 1 Districts) was launched for the first time, and Jiangdu District successfully entered the list, ranking 48th.
