The waspfish and the yellow bonefish are actually two names for the same fish, and there is no difference between them. Waspfish and Yellow Bonefish are both common names for the catfish order, family Cichlidae, genus Pelteobagrus, which is a small freshwater fish. The fish has a very high dorsal fin, a toxic mouth, a conical dorsal view, a prominent anterior anastomosing end of the mouth, small eyes, wide interocular intervals, a central bulge, a ventral position of the mouth, a shallow arc, and a large mouth cleft. The waspfish has a high survival rate and is mainly distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian in China. Because the wasp fish has small bones, it is also known as the yellow bone fish.
