Dongjiang Column Memorial Square is located at the intersection of Yonghe Avenue and Xinye Road in Yonghe Street, Huangpu District. It consists of monuments, sculptures, landscape walls and green squares, with a total area of about 1540 square meters. Among them, the monument was relocated from the Dongjiang Column Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, which was originally located in Helang Society of Hefeng Community. Mainly display and publicize the glorious revolutionary struggle history of Dongjiang column, which will become another place for patriotic education and red tourism in Luogang District.
Dongjiang Column, the Guangdong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrilla, was established on 19431February 2. It is a people's anti-Japanese armed force established by the Guangdong Provincial Committee in accordance with the instructions of the CPC Central Committee. It moved to the north and south of Dongjiang, went deep into the enemy lines of Hong Kong and Kowloon, became active in the periphery of Guangzhou, and advanced into Yonghe mountainous area, becoming a famous anti-Japanese armed force at home and abroad. 19441February, the fourth detachment of Dongjiang column was established in Yonghe anti-Japanese base area led by the special branch Committee of Zengcheng County, and Huangpu District became one of the main areas where Dongjiang column actively fought against Japan. Guerrillas fought bloody battles in Hefeng, Huangqi Mountain, Huafengshan, Youmashan, Fozizhuang, Wangcun and Yuanbei villages in Huangpu District.
