The Record of Encounters in Yuzhuang, written by Zi Zizi Wu, a Taoist priest in the Southern Song Dynasty. One volume, collected from the Taixuan Department of the "Orthodox Taoist Canon". This article is a record of refining the elixir. The author claimed that he met Yu Zhongmou and Mr. Liu in the fishing village in the eighth year of Qiandao (1172). The three of them became alchemy friends and tried the golden elixir. The author recorded it for future generations. The book first explains the name of the golden elixir, and then discusses the five steps of alchemy in chapters. The first turn combines yin and yang, and is named Sun Taichu; the second turn is the chaotic embryo, and is called Ritai Chi; the third turn is the analysis of two instruments, distinguishing yin and yang; the fourth turn gathers the five elements, transforming the four gods; the fifth turn changes everything from the middle Gong Tu De. The final appendix is ??Cao Yizi's Huohou Jue and two hymns. The book contains detailed descriptions of the theory, key points, processes, taboos, etc. of alchemy. It is generally said that the key to the golden elixir is in the Hua Chi of Divine Water. After obtaining the divine water, platinum is produced. Gold returns to gold, gold returns to purple gold, and the purple gold liquid is smoked and condensed to form the elixir. The drugs used include mercury, cinnabar, zengqing, gall vitriol, realgar, orpiment, etc. The mercury was refined and returned as an elixir, hence the name Huan Dan. The refining process must first cooperate with yin and yang, observe the vitality of heaven and earth, collect the essence of the sun and the moon, transport water and fire according to the hexagrams and Yao, and change the years according to the time. The yin and yang are used to form black lead, put the lead into the cauldron, pour mercury into it, and the golden flowers will naturally come out. Then fly out the mercury from the cinnabar, grind the two things together and bathe to achieve the "four gods", then refine it and turn it into true soil, which will produce a golden flower. It is said that if one's merits are sufficient, one can ascend to heaven by taking this medicine. Even after the ninth revolution is completed, a single pill can turn a chicken meal into a phoenix, a dog's bait into a dragon, and the philosopher's stone into a cloud of precious treasures.
