Guyuan black-bone chicken has three groups: white, black and hemp, which are bred by different breeding methods. The three groups of black-bone chickens have three crown types: cluster crown, single crown and rose crown, and the feather type is flat, all of which have the characteristics of black skin, black meat and black bone. Among them, black-bone chicken with tassel head, peacock green ears, beard, hairy feet and five claws and black-bone chicken without tassel head, lake blue ears, beard, hairy feet and four claws each account for 50%. Feather color and egg production are different.
2. Taihe black-bone chicken. Taihe silky fowl, also known as silky fowl, is called silky fowl in medicine. According to their appearance and certain characteristics, they are given various names, such as fluffy chicken, wool chicken, lion-feather chicken, loose-feather chicken, white-feather chicken, silk chicken, bamboo chicken, black-footed chicken, tufted chicken, dragon's paw chicken, baifeng chicken and so on. According to the origin, it is also called Wushan chicken and Taihe chicken. The chicken is also distributed in a small amount in Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces.
3. Yugan black-bone chicken, named after its origin in yugan county, Jiangxi Province, is a local variety with both medicine and meat. Yugan black-bone chicken breeding has a long history. As early as the Qin Dynasty, Fanyang (now Poyang) made Wu Rui raise black-bone chicken at the foot of Wucai Mountain in Dengdun Township, yugan county. Its main characteristics are: the whole body is black, and its feathers, skin, meat, bones and internal organs are all black, which is especially famous for its medicinal value. According to the blood group factor determination of Institute of Genetics, China Academy of Sciences, it is a unique and excellent black-bone chicken with outstanding characteristics, which is different from Taihe black-bone chicken and other black-bone chickens. The chicken has been cultivated and purified by Jiangxi Institute of Animal Husbandry.
Yugan black-bone chicken is named after its black body. Black flake feathers, beak, crown, skin, meat, bones, viscera and toes are all black. The hen has a single crown, a delicate head, a bright eye and compact feathers; Rooster, majestic and handsome, with high tail feathers, black and shiny coat, muscular legs, high head, single crown, generally 6 ~ 7 crown teeth, deep and thin meat, and a diamond shape.
