In Fushun, Liaoning, there was a similar "Suyuan" incident. A 14-year-old girl was attacked on her way home from school by a cruel and inhumane man. Her lower body was cut by a long saw and even became hollow.

After his last arrest, he argued, like Zhao, that he was drunk and had too little self-control to remember what he had done.

But the difference is that the criminal in this case was sentenced to death, while Zhao was only sentenced to 12 years. The results are really different.

How did the Liaoning version of the "Suyuan case" happen? What was the fate of the injured girl?

Xiaolan (pseudonym), born in 1988, is from Fushun, Liaoning. Xiaolan originally lived in the countryside. When she was not yet born, her father abandoned her pregnant mother and left her.

In 1992, Xiaolan's mother and paralyzed grandfather moved from the countryside to the city and rented an apartment in Guzhenzi Street, Wanghua District, Fushun City.

At that time, it was an urban and rural area. It was dirty and dark at night, and there were no street lights.

During the day, his mother worked outside, and the young Lan stayed at home to take care of his paralyzed grandfather. When she was a child, she would hide in the house when other kids had snacks to eat. She knew her family had no money and couldn't afford those things.

Neighbors recalled that Xiaolan’s family rarely ate vegetables and ate kimchi for almost every meal. Even if they buy fruit occasionally, they will buy rotten ones just to save some money.

But such a little girl that everyone loved was suddenly violated when she was 14 years old, which made people very pitiful and angry.

On the afternoon of March 12, 2002, Xiaolan went to a classmate’s house to do homework after school. Then she returned home around 7 o'clock to cook for her grandfather.

It was already dark, and Xiaolan rode her bicycle carefully on the dark road. When I was about to go home, a drunk man appeared across from me.

Xiaolan flashed past. At this moment, the man suddenly took out a long saw and hit Xiaolan.

After Xiaolan fell to the ground, the man controlled her and prepared to commit murder. Despite her short stature, Xiaolan resisted desperately and took the opportunity to bite the man's hand.

After being bitten, the man became very angry and slapped her several times, then grabbed her neck and took off her pants. The man then began to assault Lan, cutting her lower body with a long saw.

Xiaolan cried in pain, and finally attracted an old man to go out and take a look. When the old man came out, the shouting gradually died away. Then he came home with a flashlight and went out again. This time, the old man saw a man grabbing the girl's neck.

The old man shouted, "What are you doing?" regardless of his own safety, and then ran to save Xiaolan. When the man saw it, he stopped violently and ran away in a hurry.

The whole process only lasted ten minutes, and Xiaolan had already been fatally injured. Before the ambulance arrived, a kind-hearted woman carried Xiaolan in, leaving behind a piece of meat and a long saw.

At that time, Xiaolan’s lower body was bleeding. The poor girl said to the kind man in pain: "Auntie, I am in pain. Please give me a knife."

"When Xiaolan was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the doctor on duty saw that she had lost consciousness, her face was swollen, and her lower body was bleeding.

This doctor had treated many similar patients, and he wanted to simply suture her The wound stopped bleeding.

Qi Jun, born in 1965, is from Fushun, Liaoning. He lives only 30 meters away from the crime scene.

At the age of 25, Qi was sent to a labor camp to serve a two-year sentence for sneaking into the women's restroom. When he was 27, shortly after his release from prison, he was sentenced to three years in prison for attacking two girls in an elementary school toilet and throwing one of them into a cesspool. At the age of 32, he returned to the women's toilet and was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

After he was released from prison in 2000, he has been unemployed and relies on his parents to support him.

Investigators found a blood-stained piece of clothing at Qi's house, which proved to be the blood of the victim Xiaolan. On March 24, 2002, Qi Jun was successfully arrested.

After the interrogation, Qi repeatedly claimed that he was mentally ill. The doctor recommended that he be hospitalized, but he did not insist on it. He had been drinking the day of the murder and had little recollection of what happened.

But in the face of conclusive evidence, Qi Baishi could not argue. He can only say that he is a pervert and his mind is unclear after drinking.

Xiaolan's injury caused a sensation in Fushun and the country.

During the trial, more than 1,000 people filled the 500-seat courtroom. Outside the court, more people were waiting for the verdict.

The presiding judge believed that mental illness is not a mental illness, and drunk people should also be held criminally responsible. Qi Jun severely disabled the victim in extremely bad ways and sentenced him to death.

The court ordered silence when the death sentence was announced, but the audience spontaneously applauded for several minutes.

The crowd outside the court also applauded, and even drivers on the road honked their horns. In everyone's eyes, only the death penalty can achieve justice.

After Xiaolan was injured, she received more than 1 million donations from all walks of life, enough to pay for her medical expenses. Xiaolan finally received good treatment in Beijing, and her fertility was likely to be preserved.
