Yongtai Chibi Travel Notes

Text/Chen Anruo

At almost 12 o'clock the night before yesterday, I suddenly had an impromptu idea to go out for fun, so I and my friends decided to go to the nearby Yongtai Chibi the next day.

I was so excited that I didn’t fall asleep until one o’clock in the morning. I was woken up by the phone at around seven o’clock in the morning. Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I got up, washed up quickly, had a meal, and set off when I was ready.

It only takes more than an hour to drive from Fuzhou West Railway Station to Yongtai Chibi, but the drop-off point is still a long way from the scenic spot, and many motorcycle taxis are there to pick up passengers.

It took a long time to walk in. There seemed to be no other cars to get in, so I ended up taking a motorcycle.

At 10:30 we arrived at the ticket office at the gate of Lefeng Chibi Ecological Scenic Area.

As if to catch the wind and wash away the dust for us, the bright sun was shining brightly just now, and then suddenly it began to rain heavily. After buying the tickets and waiting for the rain to stop, there was a fresh smell in the air, which was no longer so It's sweltering.

Continue to drive in. After entering the gate, there is a flat mountain road, several kilometers long.

Not far from the scenic spot, there were a few monkeys running around on the road. They were probably used to the world and were not afraid of people. One monkey was naughty and was grabbing a life jacket hanging there.

I kept moving forward without stopping, and finally arrived at the official entrance of the scenic spot at 11 o'clock. As soon as I walked in, there were stalls selling dry goods on both sides. The most popular ones were Yongtai dried plums. I was not interested in it, so I took a look and left.

We started a section of the hiking trail. There was a small curved wooden bridge in front of us. The water under the bridge was clear and transparent. With the reflection of the trees on both sides, it became a green stream with fish swimming happily. It has a bit of a Jiangnan water town flavor.

While enjoying the beautiful scenery, of course we did not forget to leave beautiful memories. Friends took turns taking photos.

Ahead is the plank road. It is an artificially built elevated mountain road on the outside of the cliff. It is paved with wooden boards and is more than half a meter wide. The handrails are painted dark green.

Some of the plank roads are newly paved, and some are old. The color contrast is obvious from the past. When walking on the old plank road, I always worry about whether it is strong enough.

The trees on both cliffs are lush and green, and the ancient vines hanging down are like swings, which reminds me of the beautiful scene of the little dragon girl swinging in the valley.

With the sound of gurgling water all the way, we came to the first waterfall in the scenic spot - Tianyuan Waterfall.

The drop of more than 40 meters is divided into two parts and cascades down, stirring up a little splash of water. Just as a burst of sunlight shines through, the white waterfall sparkles.

The wind next to the waterfall is slightly stronger than other places. It is mixed with water vapor and is very comfortable. Once it is comfortable enough, continue forward to the plank road with a steep slope of about 60 degrees.

We climbed up the stairs and looked to the left when we reached the third turn. The Optimus Pillar came into view. The isolated mountain peaks stretched straight into the sky, standing stubbornly, and the clouds drifted above. There is a weird feeling.

After turning two more bends on the plank road, the largest waterfall in the scenic spot - Chibi Waterfall appears in front of you.

The waterfall seems to fall from the sky with a drop of nearly 100 meters from the notch on the top of the mountain, stirring up layers of romantic water splashes. The splashing water has a magical charm, which is amazing and spectacular!

There are vertical cliffs on both sides. We came to the front of the waterfall, and waves of water mist floated over like drizzle. Just standing and watching it was not enough, so we simply took off our shoes and walked into the water to feel the aura of the waterfall up close.

Coldness is the first feeling when entering the water. The small stones under my feet hurt my soles slightly, but I was still very excited to stand in the water, hugging the waterfall so close!

It is said that the concentration of negative ions near the waterfall is high, which makes you feel refreshed and your breathing becomes smoother.

There is a fairly flat area in front of the waterfall. My friend said it would be more fun if I brought tableware and had a picnic here. It would be so pleasant to face the waterfall and listen to the sounds of nature while eating delicious food. one thing.

After staying there for more than 40 minutes, we continued to set off. The hiking trail ahead became increasingly steep and difficult to walk. One step was almost as high as two steps on Gushan Mountain.

We walked and stopped, taking pictures of the scenery during breaks. As we walked, we suddenly saw two large deep footprints on the steps, as if they were carved out of molds. I don’t know who they were. Left behind by “ancestors”.

There is also a small Skyline Canyon there, which can only allow one person to pass. The narrowest section is only over fifty centimeters wide.

The closer you get to the top of the mountain, the harder it becomes. Some sections of the road have no steps, only primitive slopes. After more than 40 minutes of persistence, I finally reached the top of the mountain. I was so tired!

Breathing the air on the top of the mountain, as if we felt the breath of our arrival. Along with a gust of wind, the sky suddenly started to rain again, as if it wanted to wash away our fatigue.

Standing on the Stone Dragon Ridge, you can see the continuous mountain peaks, far or near, with distinct layers.

To the left of Shilong is Yunhai Terrace. You can see the white mist on the top of the mountain, which is integrated with the sea of ??clouds in the sky. Looking down, you can see the deep valley, all covered with green vegetation.

In the misty rain, nature appears before our eyes like an ink landscape painting. What a spectacular picture!

While waiting for the rain to stop, I happened to watch the clouds in the sky. The unpredictable clouds sometimes looked like galloping horses, sometimes like ducks swimming in the water, ever-changing.

To the right of Shilong is Wuzhi Peak. On rainy days, the road is slippery and I dare not climb it, so I can only overlook it from a distance.

The rain stopped at 13:35, and it was time for us to go down the mountain. When you're thirsty, take a handful of mountain spring water and drink it. It's cool and sweet, and it really quenches your thirst.

The road down the mountain was a bit slippery, so we walked very carefully, but it was still much easier than going up the mountain. It only took 30 minutes to get back to the Red Cliff Falls.

We rested in the small pavilion next to it, which is also a place for good men and women to worship Buddha. A friend of mine very piously burned incense, worshiped Buddha, and donated money to the merit box.

After resting enough, we continued walking back. Along the way, there were unknown flowers blooming in full bloom along the roadside.

I passed by the place where I saw monkeys when I first arrived. There were only six monkeys on the roadside. They seemed to have been hungry for a long time. They followed people when they saw them coming, and they even made hissing sounds in their mouths. , with a pair of pitiful eyes open, looking forward to giving them something to eat.

I threw them a few biscuits, and several monkeys almost fought over the food.

They are all old monkeys, and the hair on their backs has fallen off piece by piece. I don’t know whether it is natural hair loss or it was caught during a fight. There is only one little monkey more than a foot long, which is really cute. Jumping up and down, with shiny black eyes.

I got on the bus back to Fuzhou at around 4pm. Although I wasn’t brave enough to do bungee jumping and didn’t have enough time to do rafting, I still felt very happy.

Get in close contact with nature and have a pleasant trip for your body and mind!

(My previous travel notes are still fresh in my memory when I look them up now, and I can feel the joy of that time. It is necessary to persist in writing and recording, so that when you read back, you can see the context of time and see it clearly. The traces of your serious life will not be forgotten by memories but only the passage of time)
