The school is the third batch of authorized units for doctor's degree in Shanxi Province, the first batch of authorized units for master's degree in China, the first batch of authorized units for bachelor's degree in China, the first batch of pilot units for "excellent doctor education and training plan" of the Ministry of Education, one of 25 medical colleges offering seven-year clinical medicine specialty in China, one of the first eight medical colleges in China to resume pediatrics undergraduate specialty, and one of the universities supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of China.
