Dendrolimus punctatus (scientific name: Lycorma delicatula) is a lepidopteran insect, commonly known as "flower girl", "Toona sinensis" and "jumping flower". The body color of this insect changes greatly during its growth. When the nymph is young, it is black with many small white spots on it. Older nymphs are the most beautiful, with black and white stripes on their red bodies. Adult wings are red at the base and bright when flying. Both adults and nymphs will jump and feed on various plants, especially Ailanthus altissima.
