The lack of filling of Chinese cabbage seriously affects the quality and yield of Chinese cabbage. Today I will share with you the specific reasons why Chinese cabbage is not filling. I hope it can help everyone.
1. Cause analysis
From a variety perspective, if the same variety appears to be defective in different regions, it may be that there is a quality problem with the variety. If the problem of cabbage not wrapping up occurs locally, you must consider your own management techniques and weather and climate conditions. The main reasons are pests and diseases, improper fertilizer application, excessive humidity, excessive temperature, excessive rain, etc.
Summer Chinese cabbage is a highly heat-resistant variety, but its bulbing period requires a certain temperature difference between day and night. The high temperature during the day has little effect on the bulbing of cabbage. The main influence is the temperature at night, which is generally suitable. At 10-20℃. When the night temperature is high, the leaves become longer and ball formation is delayed. When the night temperature is low, the leaves become wider and the leaf shape index becomes smaller, which is conducive to ball formation.
Chinese cabbage has too much rain during the lotus sitting period and the relative humidity of the air is high, which will delay the formation of balls. If there is too much fertilizer and water, the leaves will become elongated without forming balls.
Excessive fertilization is one of the main factors that causes Chinese cabbage to be undercooked. Under normal circumstances, Chinese cabbage likes fertilizer and water, but if you apply too much fertilizer to Chinese cabbage, it will easily cause damage to the soil due to high concentration, causing the Chinese cabbage to grow elongated, become green, late-maturing, or even lose its core.
If the same plot of land, the same climate conditions, the same fertilizer and water management, but the varieties are different, some will form balls and some will not. The reason is that different varieties have different abilities to absorb fertilizer and water. Those that like fertilizer and plenty of water will form balls, while those that don't like fertilizer and plenty of water will grow leggy.
2. Preventive and remedial measures
1. Apply fertilizers rationally, mainly organic fertilizers. During the balling stage of Chinese cabbage, it is necessary to apply more phosphorus, potassium fertilizer and organic fertilizer, and control nitrogen fertilizer to inhibit its crazy growth. When top dressing is required, the critical period of high efficiency of fertilizer should be considered, and divided top dressing should be used as much as possible. Top dressing has the best effect during the tree growth and balling stages. When topdressing, you should also pay attention to the sky, the ground, and the seedlings. The key is to topdress according to the climate, soil, and plant growth and development conditions. One way to look at the sky is to look at the light and temperature, the other is to look at the rainfall, and to look at the ground is to topdress according to the properties of the soil. Looking at the seedlings is based on their growth and appearance as an indicator of whether to topdress or not.
2. Reasonably arrange water supply according to climatic conditions. In normal years, the water supply should be uniform and sufficient, not too much or too little. Ensure adequate water supply during the dry season. Special attention should be paid to drainage during the flood season, and drainage channels should be repaired in advance to prevent flood disasters. Once it is found that the fertilizer and water are too large and there is a tendency to grow, the seedlings should be squatted in time.
3. Foliar top dressing. Once it is found that Chinese cabbage has no tendency to grow without filling, it means excessive nitrogen fertilizer. At this time, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, trace elements (note that trace elements should not be excessive), and Chinese cabbage antiseptic filling agent must be sprayed on the leaves every 5 -Spray once every 7 days, spray 2-3 times continuously, evenly spray the leaves to wet the leaves, preferably dripping water, which can promote the Chinese cabbage to be filled as soon as possible.
4. Pay attention to early prevention and control of pests and diseases. Preventing diseases is better than curing them, and preventing pests is better than curing them.
