Fishing Songs Ancient Poem Meaning Explained

The meaning of the ancient poem "Fishing Songs" is explained as follows:

Egrets are soaring freely in front of Mount Xisai, peach blossoms are blooming on the banks of the river, and fat Mandarin fish are swimming happily in the river water. The fisherman, wearing a green-colored bucket hat and a green straw raincoat, braves the slanting wind and rain and fishes leisurely, not even going home when it rains.

"Fishing Songs - White Egrets Flying in Front of Xisai Mountain" is a poem by Zhang Zhihe, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. In the first two lines of this poem, the place and season of fishing are written. In these two lines, there are mountains, water, birds, flowers and fish, outlining a beautiful environment for fishing, and paving the way for the appearance of the characters.

The last two lines of the poem are about fishing on the smoky waves. The wind and rain in the last line is both a realistic description of the scenery and a deeper meaning. Through praising the natural scenery and the fisherman's fishing, the lyric expresses the author's mood of yearning for a free life.

"Fishing Songs" works appreciation:

The word describes the Jiangnan water town spring floods in the landscape and pleasant fisherman image: the spring river water green, rain and misty, the rain in the mountains, the river fishing boat, the sky egret, the bank peach red, the river is soaring, mandarin fish are fat; green Ruo hats, green straw raincoat, fishermen drunkenly forget to return to the time. The whole word coloring bright, lively language, vividly demonstrated the fisherman's leisurely life interest.

The author is a landscape painter, and it is said that he once painted "The Fishing Song" as a picture. Indeed, the lyrics are rich in picturesqueness. Cangyan, egrets, brightly colored peach forests, clear running water, tawny Mandarin fish, green bucket hats, green straw raincoats, vivid colors, clever ideas, and beautiful moods make the reader feel as if he is looking at an outstanding picture of spring flooding in the water country.

The lyric puts the author's love of freedom and nature in the beautiful water town scenery and idealized fisherman's life. What attracts the readers more is not the fisherman in a straw raincoat raining in the wind and rain, but the picture of the rising water of the spring river and the misty rain during the peach blossom flood in February in Jiangxiang.

The green hills in the rain, the fishing boats on the river, the egrets in the sky, the red peaches on both sides of the river, the color is bright but looks soft, the atmosphere is serene but energetic. And this reflects the author's artistic craftsmanship, but also reflects his lofty, tranquil and leisurely interest.
