Sweet potatoes of 8 to 10 cm in size will be cooked after steaming for about 20 minutes.

If it is larger, it will need to be steamed for more than 30 minutes. After steaming for 20 minutes, pierce the sweet potato with chopsticks a few times. If it can be pierced easily, it means the sweet potato is cooked.

Generally, when steaming sweet potatoes, use high heat first. After the water in the pot boils, reduce the heat to medium-low and steam for ten to fifteen minutes. It depends on the size of the sweet potatoes. If the size is bigger, steam it longer, if the size is smaller, steam it faster.
