Ichthyosis is a group of hereditary keratinization disorder skin diseases, mainly manifested as dry skin. Accompanied by ichthyosis-like flaking. Let's take a look at what its symptoms are like!
01Ordinary ichthyosis
1. Skin damage like ? The skin damage is like ichthyosis. The skin damage is like fish scales or? The skin damage is like fish scales or snake skin. like, polygonal or rhombic, attached in the middle, the edge of the upturned, the front of the calf is the most common, the extension of the limbs than the flexion side of the severity of the armpit, elbow, popliteal fossa, groin and these relatively moist places are often no abnormality. The flakes of skin that come off are usually white. The patient's skin is dry and itchy in severe cases.
2. Follicular keratinized papules, usually on the upper arms and thighs of the extensor, and sometimes the cheeks. When it is light, it looks like the pores are thicker, and each pore is a small dot. If it is serious, these dots will become very obvious, and if they appear in one piece, it will look like a file.
3. Hand and foot lines, deep, messy, rough skin on the palms of the hands and feet, and even the formation of very thick keratinized patches, dry environment keratinized patches easy to crack, causing pain. It usually develops from a few months after birth to before the age of five, is most severe at puberty, and then gradually eases. It is relieved by warm, humid summers and exacerbated by cold, dry winters.
02Sex-linked recessive ichthyosis
Skin on all parts of the body except the palms and soles can be involved, presenting as large, thick, dark black scales. The lesions are more severe in the abdomen, which is the characteristic feature of this disease, and the folded areas such as armpits, elbow sockets, popliteal fossa, groin, perianal area, and around the external genitalia are slightly less severe because they are relatively more humid.
Severe cases in the cold and dry season, the accumulation of thicker dirty brown keratin scales block, as if the whole body draped in a pair of black armor. Hot and humid season can be relieved to reduce.
The disease is lifelong, and with age, external damage to the neck, face, and scalp may diminish, but the abdomen and lower extremities usually become more severe.
03Lamellar ichthyosis
The patient is born or shortly thereafter covered with a broad, cotton-like membrane that tightly covers the entire body and causes the eyelids and lips to turn out. This film usually sloughs off after a few days, and the skin is widely and chronically flushed with grayish-white or grayish-brown polygonal or rhombic scales, which are fixed in the center and free at the edges.
Scarring baldness occurs on the scalp, and there is severe hyperkeratosis in the palm and plantar areas, which hinders the function of the hands and feet. Finger (toe) nails are thickened and have an uneven surface. An absence of sweating often results due to glandular obstruction.
The disease is lifelong, but if it survives childhood, the symptoms gradually resolve with age. In some cases, by adulthood, there is only mild redness and a small amount of thin, dry scales, the so-called ichthyosis-like erythroderma.
04Epidermolytic hyperkeratotic ichthyosis
Also known as herpetic ichthyosis-like erythroderma, it is rare. At birth or a few hours after birth, there is a generalized erythematous scaling, and after the scales fall off, the whole body is red skin, and the blisters heal without scarring. With age, the blisters and red skin gradually reduce and subside, manifested as warty hyperkeratosis, especially in the elbow, popliteal fossa, armpit, groin and other flexion and between the rubbing parts.
05Congenital non-herpetic ichthyosis-like erythroderma
Patients present with flinty cotton-like fetuses at birth, and a few present with erythroderma accompanied by characteristic scales, with the lesions gradually fading later on, with the majority tending to improve at puberty. The lesions are white or gray superficial, semi-adherent shiny scales, the face, arms and trunk are fine soft feathery scales, and in the lower limbs are platelike or discoid scales, which can be repeatedly shed and regenerated in 2-4 weeks, 70% of the patients are accompanied by palmoplantar keratosis, and some of them may be accompanied by pemphigus vulgaris.
06Pedunculated linear ichthyosis
Oddly shaped migratory circular and polycyclic erythema can be seen, which is an autosomal recessive disorder. There is a generalized polycyclic runny rash on the trunk and proximal extremities with a thickened, slowly changing keratinous margin at the periphery, and hyperkeratosis of the flexural moss formation in the popliteal and elbow fossae. In some cases, flaccid subkeratotic blisters and palmoplantar hyperhidrosis may also occur. Bamboo hair is seen in most cases.
