Tomb-Sweeping Day is a traditional folk custom popular in xinghua city, Jiangsu Province, and one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Maoshan knows how to sail with a long history. In the 33rd year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1554), the Japanese invaders invaded the coastal areas from the sea and harassed the people. The Maoshan people in Jianbi organized ships, used bamboo poles as guns, cooperated with officers and men to fight against the Japanese, and wiped out more than 1,000 enemies. This was rewarded by the imperial court and the colorful Golden Dragon Flag was defended on all sides.

Maoshan people are proud of this, and they hang this flag and race boats every year, gradually forming a folk activity that Maoshan will sail with Qin. Before Tomb-Sweeping Day every year, Maoshan and its surrounding areas spontaneously organize boat meetings. Gathering in the third watch, offering sacrifices in the fifth watch, gathering boats and tourists. On the water, flags are like the sea, paddles are like forests, boats are like shuttles, gongs are ringing, and people are jubilant and lively.
