Chongqing Wanzhou Technician College was founded in 1956, and was founded in 20 13 by the integration of Chongqing Economic and Trade School, Chongqing Wanzhou Technical School and Chongqing Wanzhou Commercial School.

It is the only five-star crew training institution in the inland river, the national training base of the World Skills Competition, the national high-skilled personnel training base and the national comprehensive vocational training base, and the technical support unit of the Belt and Road International Skills Competition for six consecutive years.

The College has successively established a stable school-enterprise cooperation relationship with more than 30 enterprises such as CCTV's China expert column, Suzhou Automobile Research Institute of Tsinghua University, Shanghai Volkswagen, etc. There are 35 on-campus training bases, 3 off-campus training bases 103, and 7 municipal training bases.

The college has more than 30 training bases (workshops) such as vehicle training, numerical control processing, ship driving simulation and tourism VR training bases, with a training site area of 3.7 1 10,000 square meters and more than 3,000 training stations, with a total training equipment value of nearly 71100,000 yuan. There are more than 30,000 square meters of sports venues such as track and field, football and basketball, and more than 300,000 books in electronic reading rooms and libraries.

The college covers an area of 505.5 mu, with an existing building area of108,000 square meters, and construction of 67,800 square meters will be started soon (including the building area of teaching building of 28,000 square meters, the building area of dormitory of 20,700 square meters, and the building area of canteen, office and logistics support room of 1.9 1 10,000 square meters). There are nearly 8,000 people with academic qualifications in school, and 4,000 social students are trained annually.

In 2022, 2,697 students with academic qualifications were enrolled. There are 6 departments 1 centers, including automobile department, shipping department, architecture department, finance and trade department, machinery and electronics department, information technology department and professional core competence building center, and there are 3 social training centers, including comprehensive training, crew training and Wanzhou grilled fish training.
