Spring allergies, how to deal with?

Spring everything grows, all kinds of bacteria and viruses are relatively active, and there is more pollen and dust floating in the air than ever before. Coupled with the unstable temperature, people with allergies are prone to some uncomfortable symptoms and the occurrence of allergies. What should we do about spring allergies?

If you are in a position to do so, try to get an allergen test to clarify exactly what substances produce allergies, which can be targeted for avoidance. Currently, there are three common screening methods for allergens: intradermal prick test, patch test, and serum-specific IgE test. Among them, serum-specific IgE antibody test for allergens is one of the most recognized allergen tests at home and abroad, with the advantages of low detection risk and not affected by drugs. However, it should be noted that the results of serum IgE testing should be combined with clinical symptoms to make a judgment. If you want to do allergen testing, it is best to choose a qualified laboratory, and at the same time, the test is as comprehensive as possible, need to include CCD and total IgE indicators, so as to exclude cross-reactive glycan antigenic determinants caused by false-positive reactions.

1. For allergens that float in the air, such as pollen, willow and humus, it is recommended that you wear a mask when traveling and try to avoid going to parks and other places on windy days in the spring, so as to reduce the allergic reaction.

2. For dust mites and mold allergens, you should pay attention to the cleanliness of mattresses, bed bottoms, quilts, pillows, sofas, carpets, curtains, and stuffed toys, and it is best to use cotton high-count bedding or specialized anti-mite bedding. Caution! Removing dust is not the same as removing dust mites and mold, you can choose cleaning appliances with mite removal mode.

3. For inhalant allergens, closing doors and windows as much as possible indoors and turning on the air conditioner or air purifier can improve the allergic reaction.

4. Shower and change clothes and shoes when you get home from outdoor activities. If you have a history of eczema and it worsens in the spring, pay adequate attention to moisturizing your skin on a daily basis.
