Modern comprehensive cubism
Still life oil painting
Juan Gris
Although juan gris is Spanish, he lacks Picasso's matador temperament and is more French elegance and rationality. His understanding of collage is always consistent with his understanding of cubism as a whole, and it strengthens the sense of order day by day. At the same time, intentionally or unintentionally, it adds a layer of poetry to the picture.
The breakfast created by 19 14 is a typical example. His collage technique focuses on carefully and strictly cutting and arranging materials such as paper. Wood grain paper is the texture of wood and should be used to express wood; Wallpaper has to be used on the wall, while porcelain is drawn on white paper with charcoal first, which is quite physical ... These cut "raw materials" must be placed in a strict and elegant order. Letters in newspapers are the earliest materials of cubist collage, which are usually used to reveal the meaning clearly conveyed by the author in the formal language of painting. Grace cleverly cut out the headline with the word "Grace" in the newspaper and put it in the most conspicuous place in the picture, as if to announce to the audience: "I have full confidence in Grace!"
