Cong Rong (alias Dayun. Perennial parasitic herb, height15-80 cm, fleshy, cylindrical yellow, unbranched, scaly leaves, fleshy yellow or brown, arranged on the stem in a complex shape, spikes with cylindrical petals of needle-like purple, white tube, 4 stamens, often hairy anthers, oval fruit with 2 cracks and few seeds. Ecological distribution, mostly parasitic on the roots of red willow and Nitraria tangutorum, is distributed throughout Xinjiang.
