Tai'an mountainous area is located in the middle quasi-terraneous Lusi fault block uplift area in the northwest of the western part of the Tai Lai fault basin. Stratigraphic zoning belongs to the North China stratigraphic area of Lushi sub-district Taian district. The exposed strata include Taishan rock group of the Paleozoic, Cambrian and Ordovician of the Lower Paleozoic, and the Lower Tertiary and Quaternary of the Cenozoic.

The tectonic structure in the area is mainly a fracture structure, in which two groups of fractures are the most developed, i.e., the north-east-east direction and the north-northwest direction. According to the geomechanical division, belonging to the new Huaxia system of two groups of *** yoke torsional fracture surface, namely, Taishan-style and Dayishan-style. The north-east-east oriented fracture from north to south is the Taishan Fracture, Jiezhuang Fracture; the north-northwest oriented fracture from east to west is the Daidaoan Fracture, Panhe Fracture and so on. The Taishan Fracture is the tectonic frame fracture in this area.
