Red mulberry, also called iron amaranth, alias: Seeing sorrow in blood, beads in sea oysters, and beads hidden in leaves. It is the above-ground part of the Euphorbiaceae plant Acalyphaaustralis L. Harvest in summer and autumn, remove impurities and dry in the sun. Habitat distribution: Grows on hillsides, ditches, roadsides, and fields. It is distributed almost all over the country, especially in the Yangtze River. Indications: clearing away heat and detoxifying, diuresis, astringent and hemostasis. Used for enteritis, dysentery, hematemesis, epistaxis, hematochezia, hematuria, metrorrhagia; external treatment of carbuncles, furuncles, sores, dermatitis and eczema.
