Molao Longxi Western Restaurant: Beijing meets Belgium
The first time I walked into this restaurant was more than ten years ago. I just came to Beijing at that time, and it was not very popular to use online APP as a guide. I came here entirely by fate. Later, I occasionally saw the name of this restaurant in various media and passed it over and over again.

I have the habit of collecting business cards of my favorite restaurants. Many of these restaurants in my collection have long since disappeared. Many existing restaurants have changed hands several times and the situation has changed. There are not many restaurants that have been completely preserved, and "Mo Lao Long Yin" is one of them. Unfortunately, there was no photo left at that time, and my memory of it was blurred.

What is it like there now? Is it something I vaguely remember? I walked into this restaurant again with curiosity and questions.

Because of the early arrival, the newly opened restaurant is slowly waking up, and the proprietress and a clerk are busy arranging flowers. The waiter showed me to my seat. I looked around and tried to remember, feeling like I was waiting for an old friend to appear.

More than ten years ago, when I first saw the signboard of the restaurant, I felt that the name was a bit strange. Later, I learned that the word "Morau" in the "Dragon Seal of Morau" originated from the surname of Mr. lennert Morel, the Belgian owner of the restaurant. The "Dragon Seal" represents two stone carvings with John Lone seal in front of the restaurant. The proprietress is an authentic Beijinger, and the name "Mo Lao Long Xi" skillfully blends the different cultural charms of the East and the West.

Founded in 1999, Molao Longxi is undoubtedly one of the oldest western restaurants in Beijing. This restaurant specializes in Belgian specialties and traditional French cuisine. The owner, Mr. Morau, is a Michelin-starred chef. The restaurant has won the praise of countless guests, including Chinese and western dignitaries and celebrities, and has been recommended by the Belgian Embassy for more than 20 years, which shows its authenticity and delicacy.

Belgium is a coastal country in western Europe, with a long-standing reputation for seafood. Its classic signature dish is "Haihong with French fries". Actually, I don't like seafood very much, but I only like two or three kinds, including Haihong. Because many years ago, I ate Haihong in a restaurant in the Loire Valley, France, and I have been fascinated by the sweet taste.

I didn't use to drink beer, but after drinking Belgian beer, I'm no longer so resistant to beer. Morau has many choices of beer, besides authentic Belgian beer, there are also beers from all over the world, and of course Morau's own beer.

Many guests in the restaurant come here for admiration, some to enjoy traditional food, some to witness the elegance of Mr. Morau, and some to visit the proprietress. There are also many guests who have regarded this place as their own kitchen for more than ten years.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrow go to the store almost every day. As the chef of Michelin Samsung, Mr. Morau is modest and very low-key. He is very willing to talk about dishes with guests and accept their opinions. Mrs. Morau is responsible for dealing with all kinds of problems in the restaurant.

The table in front of the restaurant has become their "desk", which is convenient for close communication with guests. There is a candle burning for more than ten years beside the table, and the wax oil that drops naturally inadvertently forms a handicraft. This is Mr. and Mrs. Morau's child!

The first time I walked into this restaurant, I was destined to have a relationship with it. Every time I go back to Beijing in the future, I will come here to "report" and taste the familiar taste in my memory. I hope our old friend Mo Laolong Xi will always be with us, 10 years, 20 years, longer ... just like that enduring candle.
